Not sure I'd go that far but he is under-rated. People have made their minds up and will always see him as a hard-working donkey. Yesterday he showed he has a bit of class with that finish but people will remember him for the misses instead. When did Fryatt last put one away as well as that?

How did a thread supporting a player who's scored 2 key goals in the last 2 games turn into us trying to work out if he's any good or not?

We all know he's not scored many since arriving but he's shown at Peterborough that he can get goals at this level (for a struggling club before anyone points out he wasn't prolific at this level for them either).
But we also all know how hard he works, for the first time since he's signed for us he's got 2 in 2, let's forget the doubt over him for now and hope he grabs a hat-trick at Barnsley since it appears Waggy's aiming for a return on Saturday.

Steve Walsh wouldn't have had anything to do with how much we paid for AM .
He would have recommended him , the fee would have been sorted by AP .

I'm fairly sure Walshy would have recommended Mackail Smith , Austin and a few others as well but finances would have dictated who we went for .

As far as I'm concerned AM puts the graft in , isn't a disaster but isn't quite up to leading the line for a promotion chasing side.

Hope he proves me wrong .

Walsh surely must have known he wouldn't come cheap though.

ive given mclean as much stick as any i admit, fair play to him for a fine finish against forest, i admit to saying to my mate as he went through, over the bar i bet.....i hope he does it a few more times and keeps proving me wrong, trouble is if he went through in the exact same position tomorrow night, who would put there months wages on him scoring??
thats the key really, as has been said a few times, he isnt completely useless, but i would question whether he has the consistency for a top championship striker, not sure whats up with fryatt at the moment, he looks a yard off the pace, but im hopeful hel come good soon.

I know what you're saying but as far as I see it , it's up to the money men to work out how much we eventually pay .

Even if Walshy did say AM was worth around a million I'll let him off .

Chester , Evans, Stewart , McKenna , Dudgeon for peanuts as well as some great loan signings plus Messrs Koren , Rosenior and Basso for free .
    There's others as well .

Overall the man is a magician .

Thing is in a Hull City side you'll never score that many goals. We're not a Leeds or a Perterbrough. We are a side that has a good defence but scores less than others. Our joint top scorers are the two strikers who've played most. Waggy has been injured for a bit so he's scored less. I'm convinced it really is that simple with teams like ours. Obviously if we had a Messi or Ronaldo up there he'd score more but say if we had McCormack, Lambert or someone like that, they wouldn't have scored as many as they have at their respective teams.

Think they were referring to Fryatt!

I am not McLean's biggest fan but hope he keeps his scoring run going and keeps the pressure on Fryatt & Waghorn 2 score

I think Westhulltiger is right - the post was referring to Fryatt:

"...not sure whats up with fryatt at the moment, he looks a yard off the pace, but im hopeful hel come good soon"
