It was and Ekstrand we lost 3-0 unfortunately but yes either way certainly didn’t help our cause ! Particularly as it seems the assistant gave it .
It's why I didn't progress as my Society and teachers thought I would. I refereed for the players. The "Blazers" thought it was all about the referee: "they can't have a game without us..." to which I pointed out that they could, but it wouldn't be a good game: we can't play without them!!! Always a battle trying to get anywhere with them. I was appointed regularly to middle County Cup matches (Junior and Intermediate; Senior I did some early rounds on the line) but one particularly wet November the pitches were totally unfit. I was told by County in no uncertain terms that, after three cancellations, I had to get the game played. There were four pitches available, three unplayable, one okay. Just. I spoke to the captains / managers and we got the game played. Unbeknown to me that pitch had been reserved for a game the following day and was now badly cut up. The groundsman was so angry that I left without my fee or showering. I was not happy, like the players I was caked in mud! Took hours to clean the car seats after.
It must be hard having to respond to criticism generated by nothing more than speculation/rumours on social media. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/20585070.watford-chairman-says-factor-edwards-wants/
Trouble is people simply don’t believe him or think we have to go out and spend money to show we mean business . The club have said in the past we have an “excellent squad “ so clearly have faith in the current players to produce the goods.
The forgotten man - still on our books. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...s-current-situation-pussetto/#comments-anchor
Some odd reader comments on that article. It seems that many can't recognise that the game in England is far more physical than the game in Italy - and that Pussetto, unable to adapt to that, is simply more suited to the latter. Having said that, why we bought him in the first place is a mystery to me - it was quite obvious from the start that he was a bit too lightweight.
Yes - at a time when we didn't need a winger really. Probably doing someone a favour and it didn't work out. Agree - the PL is known as being much more physical and demanding.
Nice to see that thanks to Huddersfield losing last night, Watford have moved out of the bottom three. It has been a while since we managed that.
Burnley played well - some tidy football which Huddersfield struggled to contain. Lost some key players and a manager - maybe will be a tough season for them.
U23's lost away to Southampton B 0-4 today. No 1st teamers in the squad so quite weak compared I think.
