From Jones- think that’s good from him. He knows he hasn’t quite kicked on last year but he’s not a young kid anymore and competition is increasing. Hope he has a good year this season.

"For me, it's time to start trying to show the ability and talent I've got. I wouldn't considered myself as a young kid. I wouldn't say experienced but I've had games in the Premier League and Champions League where I've scored goals. For me, I'd like to go for ten goals and assists plus.
"I don't see it as rivalry [with new attacking players like Fabio Carvalho], we see it as healthy competition and the whole team is good but so am I."

Kelleher is injured, that’s why hasn’t been involved. Shame because with Ali’s injury would have good for him to show his stuff.

Adrian to start game on Saturday.

wonder if might give Ali 45 minutes on Sundays friendly?

Jones is 21. He's still a young player.

But I have to say that bajcetic looks a right steal in there. His reading of position and passing ability is pretty spectacular for a 17 year old. He's seeing the danger and intercepting out there like he's a 25 year old.

Carvalho oozes coutinho level skills. The movement and half turn is really good.

Klopp says he is close so it'll be a risk free call imo. Game 1 is Fulham not a preseason game.

It was an OK first 22mins and then a few were trying too hard and no letting the ball go or taking wrong decision.

Elliott particularly, carvalho too, jones at times.

Have to say that konate and gomez look like two lads who've never even said hello in the street never mind worked together.

Out of that bajcetic comes out looking pretty good, a nice tough workout for that side.

I want to see a ready first team now. Be it 45 or 30mins of a nice intense press

    Only complaint.

Absolutely diabolical set piece taking all game.

Good run about but not one decent strike as even that taa one is at the keeper.

Typical of Klopp and Co to get as many games in as possible. Seeing as pre season was condensed, it was probably the only choice.

Yes. It's the home friendly that now a feature as local fans complained they never got a chance as lfc were in usa, Germany, Asia, Ireland twice but not at anfield for local tickets ever.

So it's whoever doesn't play at the mini Wembley that is the king power shed.

Last year they did the same so... maybe they've decided its a thing to get all 25-30 players a full 60-90mins prior to the big kick off.

So the same critiques are flying about nunez again.

The lad did not score, nor in truth really get the ball out of his feet well enough to score.

He had 3 great postuons he ****ed cos he didn't just snap shot but rather took extra touches and ended.up scambling with a defender and looming awkward.

The only other aspect he needs to work on is running put of the scoring zone to the near side where the ball is.

He did this 3/4 times in the game he scored 4 goals in and he did it 3 times last night.

Once was a short ball from carvalho that got put out for a corner.

The second time he robbed the space off Elliott.

He needs coaching to go away and stick to the centre of the 6 yard box and not come towards the ball.

These are all workable items that can be resolved if he's backed by fans like the manager wants.

Carvalho and Elliott were trying to hard imo to make something and made wrong decisions.

Jones floated through and really half did the job. Against more the ball quicker, less touches and focus on the spatial postion cos he left us wide open.

All 3 young kids played the first 20 mins very well then lost it. The second half they played a better 15mins. They need more time to learn this and only one or two in at a time.

Gomez and konate looked like they never met which is more worrying to me. Systems wise they were a shambles.

I would say the 90mins would be of great help in fitness and intensity step up bit just a few of the challenges esp the horrid foul on Diaz were totally out of order. The intensity was gratefully accepted, tackled thst can lead to 3 months out are not.

Both red bull trams gave us a right good chasing. One lose badly, the other won. The objective of thr sessions is to sharpen the team up and I think that will have helped.

Thus far there's little evidence of tactical change, trent was as narrow as he could get last night. Still quite far off pace. Every formation has been 433.

We have played narrow in midfield but we did that last season.

Not seeing 4231 developing here yet.

Klopp states that the other players need to get around him more. Haven’t seen any of the game but sounds like he was too isolated on his own so they could double up on him.

Tbf, can’t really judge the guy properly during pre season, plus when he’s playing with the reserve players. I’m sure playing with Salah, diaz, TAA, Robbo, he’s get more link up and more service.

He’s obviously still working on fitness and getting to know players plus doesn’t know the language yet.

Billy hogan who makes a few.million off tickets.

27 a head, kids go free. 54000 in. Call it about a mil in gate plus all the food profits to feed all those kids and buy crap.

    It's genius.

16 players out of 30 play Saturday.

Leaves 14 plus whoever to play Sunday. All the local kids get to see James milner and carvalho and whoever gets the nod.

    It's win win win.

I'm not sure trent running into no 10 and salah stuck in the wing is the best way to get more round him.

Second half he had Diaz and fiemino much more together so... well if youplay carvalho and Elliott then they will stay deeper and wider and isolate whoever is up there.
