Would they replace him or have they already done it with Nunez? Diaz and Jota on the left, Salah and Elliott on the right and Nunez in the middle. Carvalho to be converted to a Firminho-ish role, perhaps?
Yeah I suppose they have. I don’t know why though but something in my head makes me feel like they’re weaker up front than they were a year ago, however I’ll probably end up with egg on my face for saying that as they’ve been the kings of transfers the last 5-6 years. I think it’s down to the fact that their front five (pre-Diaz) was amongst the best selection of forwards in Europe and now if Firmino goes that’s three of that five gone. Diaz will need to up his goal ratio and Nunez needs to be a hit from the off to cover their losses. Fairly big ask of them, even if they did cost a bomb. Not sure much will be expected of the two young players - though again, probably gonna look a fool for saying that.
Just seen William Carvalho linked to Forest and someone pointing out their shady owner. How the **** did this crook ever pass a fit and proper persons test? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evangelos_Marinakis#Controversy I'm kidding, of course, because he just showed them his bank balance. Bent ****s.
They lost 27 Premier League goals from last season in Mane, Firmino, Origi and Minamino. They got 46 goals in all competitions, too. A full season for Diaz will negate some of that and Nunez signing will too, but it's still a lot.
Barcelona - we need to force de Jong out because we’re broke. Also Barcelona - €60m on Raphinha, €45m on Lewandowski, €50m on Kounde.
Although Barcelona shouldn’t be allowed to do it, it’s very satisfying that’s it’s now happened to Chelsea twice
They took out the footballing equivalent of a payday loan So, who do we sign when the inevitable fire sale happens...?
Definitely wouldn't say no to either of Gavi or Pedri. They'd slot in nicely as part of project rebuild alongside Scarlett, Parrott and Devine.
That’s exactly why they need to sell de Jong - and squeeze the pips out of soft touch Utd, De Jong will be lining up alongside Eriksen (and Fred or McTominay) but at what price?
McNeil to Everton for around £19m, decent deal that. McGinn's also taken over the Villa captaincy from Mings.
Prospects as in playing time or chances of success? Playing time likely no different than last season, because if he's there after the window shuts he'll be in that XI. Chances of success, hard to say, they're making some decent signings so may give Real a better challenge this season.
