Entertaining game. Trips as good as we know, hoping Miggy can take this into the season but i doubt it. Love combative midfielders but Bruno and Joe need to be careful, can't be doing that in league games. Thought Bondswell looked tidy. Schar and Botman is good but the drop in quality to Lascelles and Burn is a bit worrying.

Its called pre-season, which is about experimenting with different set-ups, giving the whole squad game time and ensuring everyone is up to speed when the season starts. That the players get used to playing with different squad members as they will likely have to do that during the season due to injuries. Oh and as its a friendly the result is meaningless so its absolutely the best time to give some of the promising youngsters a chance to show how they can play with the first team. You want the first team squad coming into that first PL match fit, fresh and raring to get started, not already feeling the effects of nearly 1/5 of a seasons worth of friendlies. Calm down and trust in the process.

I would like to see him given a run from the start. Always admire his work rate and think he brings a lot to the team. If he can start scoring and creating more its all good.
Newcastle need another rw.. Almiron and another one is better than almiron and then Murphy. Newcastle are really lacking in depth and quality in fwd areas. This new defence isn't exactly looking great either. There's no pace in it whatsoever and teams will exploit it.
