Meanwhile Forest are close to completing their 12th signing in this window! Not sure how many of them will be starting 11 players but that's still some effort. They've gone balls deep into this window like to be fair....I wish them well, apart from when we line up against them of course !
I'm never that fussed about those kind of sprees. Just ends up like Watford. You're talking about a dozen new players, the fact it ****s on a lot of players who were part of promotion, the ructions that causes and so on. I'm really surprised Cooper's gone that way, thought he was better than that. Couple of managers I've heard in the past weeks talking about how important it is to give good players who've given everything to get promoted a chance. Forest have gone completely the other way then added JLINGZ along the way. Time will tell, but I don't think it's the right approach. We are on the opposite side of that spectrum completely, giving players who've repeatedly failed yet another chance. Again, time will tell if that's right, but as I've said ad infinitum I don't think it's a good idea to ignore history of players like Almiron, Wood, Shelvey, etc. at the expense of progressing the team. If Howe gets this call wrong - and I actually think THAT'S what he meant, as in he's not looking to bring anyone else in - we're going to be a year behind the plan and again relying on the difficult January window.
He was asked about his next signing in the Chron and he said words to the effect of the next one is the most important he's likely to make. Rumours today about Timo Werner (and still Draxler).
Nah, as Roland mentioned above - it was to do with the Chron article. Nothing about the back room, he was talking specifically about the playing squad.
Patience... Still so many links and we are in that funny bit of the window where everyone's watching each other - once one goes there will be a knock-on effect We could have Paqueta, Draxler and Werner in before the window ends based on the links and people be ****ing themselves into oblivion. Even if it's not them I have faith we'll have 1 or two in to improve the front line.
Don't think we could afford to buy Werner tbh - I think that would have to be a loan with an option for a year at least. Paqueta at £30-40m would be my preference and then try for a young up and coming striker but they cost as well.
I'm convinced the PL have been blocking us again behind the scenes. We have too much class to openly criticise them but I can see the dirty 6 trying their best to influence like normal. end of
I'm not greedy but if Draxler can play right wing and also across the middle that's RW and versatility sorted. Then get Paqueta in for the middle of the park. Him Bruno and Joe would be immense with Max on the left. If we had that midfield I'd be laid back about reliance on Wilson and Wood over the season as we'd really control games from the middle.
For £288k a week I'd sure as **** be wanting a better ****ing return than this..... He's a dirty cheating **** and I wanna see Botman kick the living **** out of him next season so leave him where he is I say ! Certainly don't want him here.
He has looked our best player pre season... Bruno is but outside that I think Anderson is right up there already. If Howe's decided to keep him it's because he thinks he's good enough that's for sure. He'll get minutes this season id imagine.
Can he or Max play on the right. If we can have them two firing on all cylinders. And to be fair Miggy has been pretty good. I really wanna watch tonight’s match.
