Good Morning. It's Tuesday 26th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds on the hunt for Left back Leeds are on the hunt for another left back after it was revealed that Leif Davis had joined the Tractor Boys in a £1.2m deal. The Whites have had difficulty filling the role ever since Charlie Taylor departed for Burnley back in 2017. Alioski and Dallas provided adequate stop gaps in the past, but with Junior Firpo sidelined for eight weeks, and Davis off to East Anglia, Leeds may reignite their interest in Stoke City's Josh Tymon. It was hoped that Davis would provide competition for the No 3 jersey, but after a promising start to his pre-season, it was decided that Leeds needed someone stronger. Tymon, 21, broke through the youth ranks at the Bet 365 Stadium last term, and was a strong contender for their player of the season; narrowly missing out to Jacob Brown. He is valued at between £5m - £6m. Borna Sosa is another player recently linked to Elland Road. The highly rated 24yo Croatian International plays for Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart. He has been linked to a host of Premier League clubs this Summer including Manchester City! please log in to view this image Leeds likely to break transfer record in quest to bring in striker Elland Road journalist Beren Cross has claimed that Leeds are likely to have to break their transfer record in their quest to bring in a striker! Victor Orta has worked tirelessly all Summer, bringing in seven new faces, spending £95m in the process. In all likelihood, new recruits could hit double digits before the transfer window slams shut in just over five weeks time (1st September). Leeds are rumoured to have offered veteran shot stopper Ben Foster a one-year contract, and are currently on the hunt for another left back; but it's the forward line that worries Leeds fans! They netted just 42 times last season, twenty less, compared to their previous campaign, and with Patrick Bamford's fitness in question, they are desperate to boost their forward line. Leeds have been continually linked with Arnaud Kalimuendo, Ben Brereton Díaz and Martin Terrier, but as Beren Cross points out, negotiations have not progressed. We know Leeds are keen on Charles de Ketelaere, and whilst they can outmuscle AC Milan financially, but the young Belgium ace has his heart set on a move to the San Siro. According to Cross "French strikers Martin Terrier and Arnaud Kalimuendo remain of interest to Leeds, but moves are not advanced with either of them. Time will tell whether either proves to be the forward Orta pushes the button on, but there remains a possibility Leeds wait until after the season starts before making a call on who they want. The Whites know they are likely to break their record transfer fee with the striker they go after. They want to ensure they take their time in identifying the correct player for their desired profile." please log in to view this image Super Computer predicts tough season for Leeds The Premier League Super Computer has predicted another tough season for the Whites, ahead of their 2022/23 campaign. Data experts at FiveThirtyEight have calculated that Leeds and Southampton will be fighting it out for 16th and 17th place, but expect both clubs to survive, estimating 41 points a piece. It's not such good news for the three teams coming up. Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth are all predicted to go straight back down to the Championship, come May. Good morning all Without a recognised goal scorer, we will struggle to win games, however I feel there is an improvement over the rest of the field, which will make us more resilient & harder to beat, because were tighter we will not have that horrendous goal difference which almost sent us down last season, my predictions are for what their worth we will see a lot of 1-0 results for and against us, but I still think we will finish somewhere between 12-15th. Of course if we can get a striker, who knows where the back of the net is, then it could all change to a very comfortable top half finish.
Technology meh, great when it works pain in the ass when it doesn't....my supercomputer (head/heart) says 14th/15th or 11th/12th.....place ya bets cowboys
I think Bournemouth are down, saw them live a couple of times last season and they were very poor, no additions to the squad to make a big improvement. Forest have signed a few but non I'm envious of, even though a few think they will do well, I'm not so sure, Fulham are slightly better equipped than last time with a better manager, expect them to do the best of the 3 newbies. Then it's out of US, Everton, Brentford and Soton. 14th Leeds 15th Fulham 16th Brentford 17th Soton 18th- Everton 19th Forest 20th Bournemouth
Not at all. I was convinced of a top six finish till this morning then you pointed out the super computer said we were basically doomed. Theres no way Id argue with the super computer
Hopefully my grandsons will see a redeveloped Elland Road someday. They'll likely be in their forties though
Good Morning to all from a cold Bardsey My thoughts about CDK let him go he never wants to play for Leeds so why pursue him? Lets moveon and loan the lad from PSG at least we will only lose our loan fee if he is a flop We still need a left back so sell on Flipo losing a lot of money Kiko Costa and Rodrigo who has been poor when he had chance to shine Admittedly we will lose a lot of money on Rodrigo but we should have known he was a failure at Bolton earlier I am going to Hospital I got food poisoning 2 weeks ago and I still havea chest infectionoh the joys of getting old
Morning all. I think both Fulham and Florist will be mid table. Florist have recruited very well and I think Mitrovic will be much better for Fulham. I don't know about Bournemouth but if they haven't bought they're going to struggle. I think we'll have a very tough season after watching us in pre season. All the old problems are still there, we struggle to find a team mate with the ball, other teams hurry us much more easily than we do them and we're still a bunch of headless chickens in the box. All could change if Paddy rediscovers his form frommthe season before last and/or if Joffy stays injury free. The biggest plus over last season will be that we can switch it up off the bench. I've got my fingers and toes crossed.
Not sure how true this is but a couple of sports papers saying Leeds have been quoted €50m for the Brazilian watched by Real Madrid, Chelsea, PSG, Liverpool, Bayern and more. Orta spoke to Sporting last Summer and has been in touch again. No idea if true but its in Sports pages in Portugal and Spain?
Clubs across the PL & EFL will crack down this season on any fan entering the field of play, throwing objects, carrying or using pyrotechnics and drug use. Minimum 1 year ban for offenders. Many times last season objects were thrown at opposing players at ER so they have now been told in no uncertain terms (statement on club website) that it's unacceptable and bans will be issued. In addition if the supporter is under 18 then it's possible the parent/guardian will also be banned. Offenders will also be reported to the police with prosecutions likely.
