If I were this lad I’d walk. They can’t even pay their current players yet go and sign new ones….

    ****house of a club.

It's a shocking way to treat a great player who doesn't want to leave.
Xavi brought him on and played him as centre back against Real. He then told the media that he likes to play him there.
I'd laugh my head off if their wage bill doesn't lower and they can't register their new ones.

Seems wierd that Lewandowski's signed for them, they can't pay their wages but they can have only got him if they're paying him an absolute fortune.

it seems like a case of… please take a pay cut as we want to give your money to someone else.

I’ll giggle my ****ing arse off if they struggle this season and fail to make the CL next year, that’ll sort their wage bill out for them in one fell swoop !

It’s definitely one of the strangest situations in world football. They have sold their future tv rights 25% for 500m.

But at the same time they where in huge debt. Players not been paid and they have gone out and spent a lot of money and brought players in.

Seems odd but explains why they are one of the teams still in the ESL

Which in turn would suggest they have to lower their wage budget by 25% for the next 25 years <laugh><laugh><laugh>

UEFA should be all over this, if this was any other club they would already be banned from entering this year or last years CL.

It’s a terrible situation. Not paying current players. Even worse is that older players who stuck by them had their wages cut. Then players like Auba came in with full wages:

And now they are signing everyone and paying them. Yet their older established players are getting shafted. Unbelievable!!

Agreed and I think it was them that was funding the ESL fiasco.

That **** isn’t over either. Goldman Sachs are not doing this for the goodness of their heart: they have Barca over a barrel now.

It’s only a matter of time before something pops.

World football is on the brink.

It's like watching live car crash TV of a great football club. You sign two players for £92m, plus Christensen and Kessle on frees, but know that you can't register them to play from the start of the season unless you get a number of very high salaried players off the books in the next two weeks. A few of their squad have left, incl Coutinho, but will it be enough to get under their salary cap? A £63m cash lump plus £354k a week off the wage bill is being held up by £17m in owed wages? You couldn't make it up.
If Man U call time on De Jong they look knackered. If De Jong refuses to go they look knackered. Even if De Jong goes, they'll still need to get at least another couple of players off the wage bill to register the new signings I'd guess.

We'll see how this unfolds, but it's almost certainly one rule for them.

That’s the issue rumour has it that De Jong doesn’t want to go and then major thing is Barca owe him 17m quid in back dated under payments.

It’s bizarre to say the least.

From a FFP perspective the sale of the future revenues will have no impact whatsoever. As it will be spread so that payment is a cash only injection.

They need about 3/4 high profile players off their books just to balance things on the players they have just signed.

Having worked with Golddigger Sachs on several occasions in the past, I can safely say there's no charity and goodwill in this loan - they don't give a **** about the club and will bleed them dry with the interest they demand.

I assume Lewandowski is savvy to this and has some "if you stop paying me, I'm leaving for free" clause in his contract.
