He’s done it for ages, Blunt fans hated him. Always dropping grenades about something going on and then not following it up with anything
He is a proper gobshite. Having his old man ranting on social media about his job and colleagues can’t be good for Regan, especially when he’s engaging in bitchy comments about his teammates.
How about getting behind Tufan, encouraging and supporting him, inspiring him to want to work and play for the club. We where told it would take time and its the only reason a club of our stature has managed to get him. It's one thing to think someone else deserves the starting spot but if he is selected then thats on the manager, not on Tufan so I don't get those that make snide remarks about him. I dread to think what his social media messages will be like.
There does seem to be an obsession with size and how we need a big lad to win the ball. I think it is a good point, if we're unexpectedly transported back to the 1970s it will come in useful. So if we had Smallwood he might repeat his tackling performance from last season, successful tackles per 90 = 1.5. Seri on the other hand, lightweight, last season's record = 1.1 per 90. So having someone bigger in midfield would gain us 0.4 successful tackles per 90 mins. That will make all the difference.
Dave Mackay, a favourite of mine back in the day and Chopper Harris were 5’8. Wouldn’t have minded them winning the ball for us. Or those giants Bremner and Giles. Up front we could have had the tiny Pele, another who was 5’8””
You can always mention small players and there as been some great ones, it’s just getting the right balance. If you are good and small you play but equally having a bit of height to go alongside must be an advantage especially when the ball is in the air.
So these players we've bought and the ones we had are making 1 ish tackle per game, i thiink me mam could match that and she's no longer with us.
Are you old enough to remember 5’3” Bobby Collins. Revie said the£40,000 he spent on him as the best money he ever spent and what kickstarted Leeds rise? I remember a lad off our estate going for a trial with Leeds and being miffed when Collinsvtold him his skill levels were fantastic but he was too small to make it. What miffed him was that Collins had to look up to talk to him.
I think they’re confusing us for saying that small lads can’t do it. We need size in the midfield there are no good midfielders without it, we aren’t disregarding small players we just believe the midfield would get bullied which so far has proven to be the case
