Would be interesting to have penalty kicks awarded once the foul tally threshold is crossed. I do like the idea of "back office" officials having access to average foul stats per PL game and a tally of the current game, telling the ref that the limit of non violent/cynical fouls has been objectively exceeded by either player or team (so let the yellow cards commence) .
I don't think honest but mistimed tackles should be punished by anything other than a free kick. It is supposed to be a physical sport. What I want to see stamped down on is deliberate rule breaking, some of which is never sanctioned at all currently. Players only commit deliberate fouls because they think they will gain an immediate advantage. Even a sin bin isn't an immediate punishment. To put it in figures, if there is a fast break about to happen with ten minutes left that has a 30% chance of leading to a goal then taking the sin bin is probably still the right thing to do. The punishment needs to be something that has a 50% chance of a goal.
We did that in 1890 and it didn't work out. Some prick on Merseyside copied it and changed theirs from blue, though.
The true Liverpool team that you were named after, you mean? No wonder you had to hire a team of foreign mercenaries to fill your ranks...
The red or the foreign mercenaries? Forest probably claim the former, while Sheffield "The" Wednesday may have the latter.
RIP and total respect to Paul Sorvino. Any father of daughters will relate to his reaction to discovering what Harvey Weinstein did to his daughter.
His daughter is Mira Sorvino, for anyone that didn't realise. Probably best known for Mighty Aphrodite, for which she won a Best Supporting Actress award. That was directed by Woody Allen...
.... and then I realised an hour had passed during which I'd been staring at a screen, achieved nothing and not learned anything either. People who estimate how long we waste on computers. They're under estimating.
I don't think Woody Allen belongs in the same category as Weinstein. A lot of what is said about him is BS from my reading about it.
As the Spitting image Oscars Woody Allen / Bogart sketch years ago went : Here's looking at ... your kids.
Possibly. Marrying Farrow's step daughter is yuck, agreed, but he never had any parental control over her, she never lived with him as a daughter. There are way more serious allegations though and they appear to be made up by Mia Farrow according to people that have investigated the claims.
Spent next to no money for the last 6 weeks so I could save £130 to get tickets for me and the girls to go to the wolves game...Will be our first game together for over 2 and a half years....so pleased. Managed to get myself a ticket to the Southampton game too...very happy bunny atm
