That what he seems to like, although since we rarely had 2 fit, good strikers its difficult to be definitive about it. AN, will fit the formation/tactics according to which good/on form players are available. 4 4 2...
We are also heavy linked with broadhead which will also be putting people off, there won't be many players available that would start in front of them, it would be ideal for us to have quality backup especially with broadheads injury worries however players and their parent clubs would be hoping they would be playing most games
I’m sorry mate I don’t want back up players or even squad fillers I want players to compete for first team match 18
I’d like us to go for Keinan Davis. Big striker who went on loan to Forest and was impressing for them at the end of the season. I’d expect Gerrard to prefer to have Archer as understudy to Watkins, which might mean Davis is free for a loan.
It is just me speculating on the type of player I think would be suited to us as a loan. I have no idea if he is available, just hoping. City have signed 2 number 9s this summer so maybe his chances will be limited and a loan now best, but like you I thought before their signinga he would be on their bench this year. All just wishful thinking on my part mate.
I'm not sure why,but I just feel we will sign the right players for us.The last 18 months or so give me confidence somehow, and if it seems we're missing out via the various journos,I'm optimistic we know what we're doing.( Which I know is a complete turn around in culture over recent years!)
I agree with you here. The club really seems to be functioning on a whole new level of professionalism. Hope it continues
He'd be a great shout. City seem to hold him in high esteem and seemingly prefer to bring through their best players themselves, Foden, Cole Palmer, Mcatee and I assumed he'd be joining them in the first team squad. He'd be quality in this division. I think the same about Cameron Archer.
Just for curiosity did any one like @Bob the Mackem or @Prehab26 ever confirm we were in for Parrott or was it paper speculation.
Can’t remember any of the lads ever say we were defo in for parrot think it was speculation and folk jumped on the band wagon The only thing I think @Bob mentioned was that Broadhead had until the end of play today but I could be wrong
I'm sure his contract was re negotiated mid season. We could've easily got a million for him. As for that second one last dance ****, ridiculous. Every man and his dog could have predicted his last game could've been at Wembley.
I did think Parrot was an odd link. He played almost every game for MK Dons last year, so was surely going to a club who needed someone to play a lot of games. Preston makes sense as they need to replace Cameron Archer (wonder if that means he is staying at Villa?). I just also never felt Parrot was going to be good enough to get into our side personally. I know lots rate him, and I respect that, but based on what I saw of him at MK I dont think he would get in ahead of any of our front 4, or Broadhead, so I dont think it is a massive miss personally. That said, we need another out and out striker, not someone who can cover when needed, but I am happy to wait for the right one. Prem clubs will be making decisions on who to loan out tbis week and next I think...
Me too, I would love to have Stewart, broadhead and parrot all fighting to play every game, what I'm saying is I can understand why Tottenham would prefer him to go where he's probably guaranteed to play nearly every week, I don't think he would if broadhead comes, they would only be interested in their own players progress and they have said they want him to play as a number 9
not sure if it was 'orders' early season, when LJ went and AN took over gooch seemed to be keeping things simple, far less of trying to beat anyone in front of him and far more sensible use of the ball, also got some of our better crosses in... 'on his day' he is at least a decent championship player although i will agree he needs more of 'his days', some games like a dog chasing a balloon, others when defenders hate playing against him.
