Summer Transfer Window

Looks likes Broja to us or Everton - If he goes Everton, we probably end up with DCL, if he goes elsewhere it'll free a up a striker elsewhere and so on and so forth.

This is why this middle ground of the window is tricky - people don't want to sell/loan players out until a replacement is available. It's all a merry go round we just have to endure atm - the signings will come.

 

Ya he started well with Southampton last season but faded badly in the latter parts, I’d rather take Werner from them if he was available.

 

Thus far it's been ****ing lame.

 

Pope, Botman, Targett, Jordan Hackett, Charlie McArthur, Alex Murphy, Dan Ashworth, Darren Eales all in so far! Training ground improvements, Redecorated the stadium as well. Then they've shipped deadwood out the door in Hendrick, Hayden, Gayle, Clark, Woodman.

That is all in the last 6 weeks - still 5 more to go. Settle in for the ride it's going to be fun!

In terms of players, it's been lame so far. End of.

 

Pope. Good competition for Dubz and a massive upgrade on our other keepers
Botman. Battled AC Milan and won.
Targett. Great signing at a great price and sures up the left hand side.
Hackett, McArthur, Murphy. Who will go on to make the first team? Who knows but investing on bringing in good youth players is a good sign.

In terms of players and everything else, it's been fantastic so far and only going to get better.

Asked this the other day - but what turns this into a great window? How many more signings would do

We've 5 weeks left and for me we need to get one or two good players in to really have a really competitive squad.

 

In an ideal world 1/2 more players.

But we really would have been more prepared if we had them in already.

I do wonder if Howe is ok with this squad. The target of which this season is to make sure we don’t get in a relegation fight.

The reality is Botman and Bruno won’t stay for long if we don’t progress at a steady pace. Because they are both champions league players.

 

Maybe Howe has figured out buying a left-winger who can really cross a ball, and who has played with him previously, is the best way of getting the most out of your favourite player.

Agreed. We need a striker, could do with a right winger and should probably go for a central midfielder.

What determines a good or a great window is the quality of the forwards we bring in. Doubt very much there'll be a CM. From Howe's comments, I don't think there'll be anyone signed before the season starts.

 

McNeil has 24 goal involvements in 134 games.

 

I’m on the fence on this one. I agree with you in that we have not really strengthened our forward line up from last season.

But progress is being made across the club. It’s not happening very fast nor will it.

I am surprised that we have not got a striker in.

 

I would say that if we brought in a new striker it would be a good window, a new winger as well would be a great window and another midfielder too wold be an amazing window.

 

He’s older but why not go for Gini? Free transfer but wages probably the issue eh!

 

I think any 1 of the 3 and that would be 4 good signings. That would be a good window.

The club will have a new player in by the end of this week.

 

And I think it will be Broja.
