'Struggling to find any reason at all, valid or niggling, not to like who the club have signed this Summer. Hopefully Mr B and his backers in the board room won't panic if it doesn't go to plan as quickly as he, they and we would all hope. It's a given that some of the fans will.' That is what I said on the Transfer Rumours thread. Didn't expect to be proved right before a ball has even been been kicked in the real season. Can't wait for the 1st round of the League Cup.

Surely you could see at least how poor we were. Definitely a step back from where we were at this point last season. Nothing wrong with being realistic as to where we are

Didn’t see the game. I don’t draw any conclusions from pre season friendlies.

Let's not forget that last season we beat Manchester United pre season and drew with Leicester. We didn't walk the championship after that. The year we walked the league Warnock had us doing pre season against non league sides in the West Country so he could extend his summer break.

Almost like pre season games are meaningless and we shouldn't read into them too much...

    Pre season friendlies mean nothing

New manager, new ideas and some new players. For Gods sake, relax and give them a chance.

They mean nothing, unless we beat Man Utd

Well firstly, in his post match interview Beale said , for the first 2 goals we simply can't defend like that because that's the Qpr of last season ! I'd like to know that if he knew that's how we defended last season why haven't the staff been drumming into them how to push out to attackers quicker already . Secondly I'd be playing Dunne instead of Dickie to start with, he's a better defender imo. The full backs and striker positions needed sorting out quickly and haven't been, we are desperately short there and lack real quality barring Paal who looks a good acquisition. Dykes and Bonne were both anonymous yesterday and bringing on Armstrong for 6 mins was ludicrous. Field played as the deepest of the midfield yesterday on the whole but did get in the box the most if you can work that out after having played as an advanced player in previous games. Have no idea who will play where in opening game so have to wait and see. Adomah looked awful yesterday playing off Dykes and should've been subbed at half time, we badly need the players who were out back fit asap. Hoping we find the solutions quickly, but we need those 2 signings in sharpish.

Thanks for the info. Field will need to be well fit if he's going to continue doing that. I had started to get the impression from comments I've seen that Johansen was playing a fair bit in these earlier friendlies as the deepest based midfielder.

Thought our fans were very quiet yesterday. Only a friendly and we’re in a state of transition but it’s vital we get behind Beale and the team from the get-go.

I’m looking forward to getting behind the team, but it would be handy if the club sent my electronic season ticket so I can get into the ground.

He had in the main mate until yesterday. Mostly because Field was being deployed as a number 8. Whether it was because yesterday's opposition was a step up I don't know but none of the 3 seemed to be In 1 position or another, except to say Field was doing the work of 2 of them ! Dozell isn't good enough to be starting that's for sure, yes he has fleeting glimpses of decency with the odd fine pass but he shows so little in the large patches of the game thst just pass him by. Johansrn looked OK yesterday but so little creativity from him and his legs are shot if we want to play the pressing game that Beale desires. We need all our attacking midfielders to be fit if we're gonna score goals because no matter what others here might think our top line is weak, I had hoped to see Armstrong tested against their back line , but for whatever reason Beale was reluctant to try him. Only 2 reasons spring to mind, firstly he's desperate for us to sign a proper number 9 and didn't want to show the board that we might already have one or secondly they've already decided on a loan for the season and didn't want him getting injured, any other reason after the showings of Dykrs or Bonne just doesn't make any sense. Paal is a find, but will be wasted unless we strengthen and alter our defensive mindset. Others on here perceive it as negativity, but as the manager himself said post match, if we defend like that as last season we will be in deep trouble ! If I'd have taken over and seen those defensive frailties first hand last season, that's the first thing I'd have been addressing in my first training sessions. I'm hopeful but fearful too Oslo, it's these things that put me off Warburton. Time will tell and Beale has my backing, as long as simple things are resolved.

To be fair there hasn't been a proper cauldron at Loftus since we played the scum a decade ago. The fans at the away games I go to these days make 3 times the noise of the ones at home with 4 times less ! There must be a reason behind this apart from it being the diehards going, the games I've been to seem to just as many younger ones on the road as the old farts. Maybe it's just all the ones at HQ bringing all their negativity to the stadium :emoticon-0100-smile. Seriously though, it is strange as whenever I had a season ticket in R block the place used to be jumping, last few years its been like Highbury used to be. Very odd
