Doesn't anyone think that the lads were just knackered though? Shota has mentioned it twice now and even Doc mentioned that it'd be a tough pre season

We've had a bit of an unusual pre season compared to normal, we started with the Fenerbahce game where most the lads got more mins than usual at that stage of pre season. They started with 60 mins in a high intensity game. Then they flew straight to Spain where it was double sessions. We finished that week off with the Malaga game where we looked pretty good. But most the lads played 90 mins, Seri played 70 with little training. We backed that up with another high intensity game against Leicester, where once again most the lads played 90 and then today most the lads played another 90 mins.

That's a hell of a lot of minutes along with games in quick succession and no doubt a lot of tough training too.

Even Seri looked way off it compared to the Leicester game

Friendlies are only a way of getting teams fit for the new season, right? You'll always get a gobxxxxx like me coming on here having a go without giving the new manager a chance to prove his worth.

So, here I go, 10 games in, if the team hasn't got at least 15 points, the target for a top six spot, sack the manager and get someone in who can improve a dull and uninspiring team. I feel this squad will take too long to settle in, but that's no good, I want to live the dream again shortly, not in the distant future.

The coaching staff know the schedule. Surely the fitness boffs will have been advising on high intensity stuff and the like throughout and adjusting accordingly, no?

Even so, they've got a clear week now to prepare, so 'heavy legs' shouldn't be an excuse.

They tried that at Scunthorpe, it failed badly.

I’m not suggesting that we’d be happy with an 18th place finish, but we are going to aim for top half/playoffs, which we will.

Some of the idiots calling for Shota out is unbelievable. 10 games see where we are, I’m
Not his biggest fan but we’ve bought a lot of players from all over the world. Gonna take time. Tetteh looks a tad more worrying than Tufan, Tufan looks well built, Tetteh just looks fat.

Does anybody think it was a good idea to sell Honeyman?
Millwall fans already think he's wonderful.
What made anybody think we didnt need him?

I think he wanted to go though - women and money, those two terrible troubles.

A Sunderland fan I talk to was incredulous as to why we let him go. Said they'd take him back in a flash and that they never should have let him go in the first place. A really key member of a team who isn't really appreciated until he isn't there any more.

    I totally concurred.

Not me. Still can’t get my head around it tbh. He was clearly instrumental when we were gathering points last season, proven by the period when he was unavailable due to injury. It just seems very naive to me to not covet a player like that, even if it’s only until your new players have proven their worth/fitness.

It’s ok others saying ‘but we finished 19th with him in the squad’, the obvious thing that they’re not considering is that we didn’t have eleven players with the skill and commitment of George Honeyman on the pitch, if we had I’m pretty certain we’d have finished top half.

It’s only a good idea if we replace him with better and a bad idea if we don’t.
I think some on here are overrating him, he was decent in a l1 team. I’m not so sure he’s top 6 and pl material. If he was why didn’t any of these sides come in for him ?

He said himself he'd have to get promoted
Why are Millwall fans raving about him?
The players we have signed look nowhere near as good as Honeyman
I know it's early days but the players look worryingly poor

Maybe I was lucky yesterday, I paid for the Cambridge game, and a few minutes later the power went off in the Pocklington area. After many messages to say in one hour it will be back on it finally came back at 6 pm. I couldn't get it on my phone as the reception here is poor, so miss the 2 games.

From what I have read, and the total team at P'boro lack of performance was down to tired legs. Maybe they would have been better, like other teams do, just play one game rather than 2 on the same day, and give each player 45 minutes or some 60 minutes?

However, this is a team that has largely just been assembled, and many of us know that wholesale changes at once need time to fire. Ask Brian Little and Adam Pearson, they tried to radically change the team at the time and it didn't work, and Brian lost his job.

I think Seri and Fig of the new signings as well as Allahyar look ready, but Tufan, Oscar, and Tetteh need time to get up to speed. In addition, I think we need to play William's on the right as Coyle just doesn't get forward enough and we need balls into the box.

Maybe Docherty in for Tufan playing a bit further forward might be a better option at the start. He has looked good in pre-season, and have always felt he looks better further up the pitch and can press well. Fleming looks a bit off it at the moment, whereas Elder looks better IMO, maybe he would be a better bet to start on the left?

A lot of wringing of hands at the moment just because of one bad defeat, it's pre-season, and I have been watching City for longer than I care to remember and generally they have no bearing on what's happens when the season starts.

It's not the results that matter. It's the performance. I know it's early but if you had been told the new players were U16s you would still be shocked by their performances

I dont think Honeyman is the best player in the division but he's certainly near the top
He was exactly the type of player we needed
We could have sold him when we knew he wasnt good enough to get in the team

When is someone going to post the dreaded prediction poll?
If some of these posts are anything to go by I hope the Samaritans are fully staffed.

Ps those volunteers do a tremendous job.

Of course, I just think we looked ****ed.

Fair play to Posh, they played with great intensity. They only started playing opposition higher than L2 on Wednesday though.

We'll have a more chilled out week no doubt and be getting prepared for the big kick off

Jees theres some ****ing ****e written here. The love in surrounding Honeyman is laughable. He was and is a top bloke and will go down as a top Hull City player BUT he is an OK Championship player. ****ing deluded that he is ranked as the best or one of the very top few in the division. If that had been the case, it wouldn't have been Millwall that came in for him. Last season he did a job SOMETIMES but not all the time. He was well liked by his colleagues and was offered what seems to be a deal to stay at the club. He rejected it. Some say there were outside circumstances that may have contributed to his thinking. Not one word here about KLP, not one word. Look at this squad compared to last season and the season before and give it a chance to gel. Over the last week those that are crying about Honeyman were lauding the amazing signings being made.

Now I said yesterday was a tough watch, a very tough week , but lets put this in perspective are Leipzig calling for their managers head after getting dumped 5-0 by Liverpool is Tuchel job at risk after getting trashed by Arsenal etc etc etc. Some of you need to give your heads a wobble.
