There’s a difference between expecting and accepting. Planning for football success must come with its margins - where pragmatism and contingencies can be explored and utilised. For instance, I would assume that both Acun and Kesler wanted these signings in sooner than they managed. They also had no control over the fixture order, see the first five matches: Bristol City H PNE A Norwich H Burnley A WBA A Any team in this division could come out of those five games with close to Bo Diddley, nevermind a team that’s just been refitted and crowbarred onto the pitch. Kesler and Acun must have planned for these possibilities and how to work with them.
I would imagine they did that is why they bought the players they did because they probably expect whether we think it or not to come away with points. You don't bring in the quality they have and expect Bo Diddley even at the start. Those other teams should be thinking look at Hulls team sheet we will get Bo Diddley there.
If true, that’s naïve, particularly how close to the season the squad has been assembled. Also, Acun has been realistic in interviews that I have seen. Talked about the team being contenders ‘on paper’ and has made no concrete demands that I have seen – of this season at least. If this team had been assembled in May, then they’d be a stronger case to answer. It needs time and I think, unless things unimaginably hurtle towards oblivion, the management will know this and give time/patience accordingly. I think the supporters should also give time/patience accordingly too.
Have read most of the previous posts and find it hard to disagree with any of them. Just about everything about the performance was way below standard, fitness, passing, decision making and tactics. We have a CF that has shown on youtube he is capable of scoring with his head from crosses sent in from out wide and not for him to be looking over his shoulder at balls played in diagonally from deep. Seri demands the ball which is good but not all the time especially when he is close marked by two or more players Playing out from the back requires accurate passing which not happening when the opposing team plays a high line.
I can't work out what's gone wrong , the FIFA stats of our players are clearly better than those of the Posh players
