Bit early to say that, for me. Alderweireld and Vertonghen. System and position suits him brilliantly, though. Had some very impressive performances.
Needs another season or two before I’d put him over Vertonghen but he’s certainly on his way to potentially being so. Fantastic defender.
Rodon with the 19th century sideburns. Hojbjerg and Romero replaced by Tanganga and Sarr. That's all the starters.
2-1 FT. Match largely decided by a short spell at the start of the 2nd half. I think Conte will have mixed feelings about this one and see a bit to work on. Not sure why Doherty went unused, either.
Not the most exciting of games but we could’ve finished with about 6 goals had we been more clinical. Kane with two great finishes though. Nice to see all the new boys getting a run out.
The Rangers TV commentators were pretty reasonable, in my opinion. Spent a little too long talking about money, though. You wouldn't have thought they'd want to bring that up, considering....
I’ve kept the SpursPlay stream going, Kane had a chat with our two journos and now Dier’s with them, they asked him about his knock, said he’s absolutely fine - phew.
I know I’m biased on this as he’s a player I’ve admired for years but I think fans are gonna absolutely love him, but more importantly Kane and Richarlison are going too as well.
It's a 'British' thing referring to the entire geographic area (including Ireland) as the British Isles. Such reference is not well received down her in Cork, trust me!
If Perisic produces that quality of cross at a rate akin to what Kulu did last season from the right, both Kane and Son will run riot. The acid test will be doing it full blown pace in a PL starting XI, not the dying embers of a pre-season friendly.
I think he will, he’s been doing these level of crosses for years. Whilst you can never be 100% sure, I’m as close to it as possible when saying I think he’ll be a star here. The only downside of signing Perisic is we never signed him earlier in his career.
Just got back from the game. Thought it was a decent watch against good opposition. Emerson Royal and Sessegnon are just as frustrating in the flesh as they are on tv. New boys looked decent in the second half though. Perisic and Bissouma looked right at home. First time I’ve seen Spurs since Conte took over and he really moves about a lot doesn’t, I think he was sat down for the first ten mins but then spend the rest of the game shouting and gestering non stop.
