But you've no idea what we'll do. Today was about putting 2 sides out. We can't play any formation with 2 wingers because we don't have 2 available wingers. The aim is obviously to put out 2 balanced sides and give all the senior pros 90 mins. The intensity we play at next weekend will go up, it always does from pre season games. So just wait a week before we moan.
I know it’s been mentioned a lot on here, but it makes no sense to sign all these forward thinking players, and continue with a system which allows 2 of them to start. Surely playing a 433 would allow us to get more of these attacking talents on the pitch, whilst also taking the attacking burden off the fullbacks which isn’t their strong point to say the least.
Think ya may be being kind when ya mention 'play' and Tufan in the same sentence, he did enjoy a nice amble though for an hour and a half, I'm sure once he gets fit he'll be a different player but for now he needs a lot of cardio work to get rid of that tyre he is carrying around with him.
The Peterborough manager would be a good shout if Shota doesn’t work out, young British manager that plays attacking football
A few years back we beat Benfica away in a friendly, and we hammered Liverpool 3-0. Guess what it meant…**** all. Enjoy the third tier.
We'll see, as I said, he has played the same formation with his so called strongest available team all through pre season, and it hasn't worked. Reminiscent of McCanns insistence on playing a formation that didn't suit what we had, until injuries forced him to change it. Not confident of him changing that between now and Saturday.
I don't think we will be third tier i believe the people at the top will take action if they feel they have no choice, you can't bring in these players sell it to them then end up playing as we do hoping for the best waiting for it to click.
It's going to be a bumpy first few weeks no doubt about that (we're often a bit **** in August and September anyway). Hopefully we'll gel eventually with enough time left to salvage the season
That back 5 is ringing alarm bells for me. Haven't got the numbers to compete in midfield, especially with Tufan being so far off the pace.
Fortunately I’m taking my daughter to a birthday party at 3:30 next Saturday so I have an excuse not to watch
The Leicester gane could be excused, we were against a quality team with Premier league class, today however showed the shortfalls we have against a team who probably aren't going to be anywhere near what we'll face during the season.
I've been trying to be positive and optimistic .... but .... that was utter ****e!!! I know it's only a(nother) friendly, as it was for them, but to be so outplayed and to once again show virtually no attacking threat, has to be concerning to even the post positive of us?
