That's far and away the best interview I've read on the wobby since OP retired. Yeah, told it like it is. No punches pulled there. It was plain to see the difference in attitude when he did play, seemed to pull the team up. His family situation cemented his commitment to the club. I liked him anyway, more so after this interview! Credit too to Andrew French for getting answers to the right questions, nothing asinine about that interview.
Only thing I would say is they all like Edwards at the moment but what if things start to go wrong results wise? Or is Gosling just talking about his own views in that regard... Having two over 70s was never going to work with a a squad of modern day footballers who clearly weren't in it together like Leicester and Palace were when Ranieri and Hodgson managed them and even that ended on a sour note for the former.
I think allowing that interview to be published shows that there is a commitment by the owners and top people to show they want a clean slate, put the past three years in the archives and give Edwards the time and support he needs to take us back to the Premier League
We’ll see . They have a lot of people to try and convince I feel going by what is being said by some .
No great surprise here. Tom Cleverley is the new club captain. https://www.watfordfc.com/news/official-cleverley-confirmed-as-club-captain
Anyone else pay to watch the game on The Hive? I was asked to pay £5 for the video stream, elected to pay via PayPal and was only charged £1. I thought I'd clicked the wrong button and first, thinking I'd asked for audio only - but have the video stream.
It's actually not too bad - fairly even with Saints having just a slight edge imo. Couple of good saves by Bachmann, Sema looking fitter and quite dangerous, Pedro/Kaymebe/Kamara all causing Southampton problems. Back three looking quite assured really - positive signs. Big difference for me is that we are pressing their defence rather than dropping back like the last couple of seasons. Half time 0-0
Asprilla on for Manaj at the start of second half. To be honest, Manaj didn't really do much in the first half.
Free kick right in front just outside of the area: Commentator: Ward-Prowse is the best free kick taker in the world right now: Ward-Prowse blasts it five or six yards over the bar.
Excellent leap over two defenders by Asprilla to head the ball into Dennis's path in the penalty area - shot just goes over the bar. Watford pressing quite well & causing Saints problems. Sierralta off, WTE on
