These are a couple of sites that we used to plan it https://independenttravelcats.com/north-coast-500-road-trip-planning-guide-nc500-route/ https://www.northcoast500.com/explore-the-route/#close Just click through the links on the first one and it's pretty comprehensive
Tremendous stuff mate. Get the cabanas hired on the beach, full bar stocked up for the day. The staff really looked after us. Enjoy mate.
No summer holiday for us, Orlando in December, taking the hit from the school for taking the bairn out, he would be only watching films in school anyway
We did it clockwise last year but I would recommend doing it anticlockwise and keep all of the best views for the end of the trip. We also had a couple of nights on Skye and toured the island. We are planning to do the NC500 again October 2023. If you do it, download the app for your phone, it shows you exactly where you are at any given time and if you leave the route to visit anywhere it helps you to get back onto the route at exactly where you left it.
Thought you meant that as the Mrs said they had done the same with the school they have there. Pic of me and little legs inside The Sun Inn Beamish style...
Haven't been abroad since around 2014, and really don't miss it, didn't even renew passports when they expired in 2015. Had a static caravan at Brighouse Bay, near Kirkcudbright, Dumfries & Galloway so was quite content to go there throughout the year. Sold it last September and bought a small motorhome so looking to make the most of that now.
In florida as I write this. Done Disney etc. delayed twice from August 2020. Jesus it’s expensive now. Even compared to our last visit.
Loved our holidays there when the kids were young, fantastic memories. Enjoy it mate, we had some of our best ever holidays there
In 2017 told the family I was going to take them all in 2020 - they said they couldn't wait that long so I agreed and pulled it forward to 2019 - great decision based on covid and my health this year. Had a fantastic time with Discovery Cove my favourite.
Last time my son was in he was talking to the barman who told him about the sawdust on the floor for people to spit on - did you oblige ?
Back home tomorrow night unfortunately. Been here a fair few times and it’s definitely a troubled place these days. Cost of basic things makes UK look cheap. Even petrol is over 4 dollars a US gallon which is unheard of especially when you are driving a 3.6 litre petrol SUV returning 19 mpg. Disney inst what it once was either but we did have a lovely trip to Clearwater area which is lovely.
It's called Eyes On Hands On. I'm allocated a couple of graves to check, clean and report back on. It's a really good thing to do I think. https://www.cwgc.org/our-work/projects/eyes-on-hands-on/
It's very rewarding. I've got guys from the Boer War, WWI, WWII right up to 2019. Army, Navy, RAF. You get to know them in a strange way.
I've just been looking at the link you posted. Quite a few in my local area, Consett and Blackhill. Bloody heartbreaking when you see their ages.
