DNA had been discovered long before this. What they determined was its structure and how this structure lends itself to being replicated. Now for the bad part: Their interpretation was only possible because of the incredible X-ray crystallographic images that they had surreptitiously acquired (aka stole) from the laboratory of Rosalind Franklin, courtesy of either Franklin's Ph.D student (Raymond Gosling) or her peer Maurice Wilkins who thought he was her superior. Wilkins, along with Watson ( an oddball biologist) who couldn't interpret Franklins images, & Crick, the physicist who immediately understood their meaning received the Nobel Prize. Franklin, remained unacknowledged and died very young of cancer probably induced by working with X-rays with Watson doing his level best to confine her to being a historical footnote in the discovery of the structure of DNA. Science - many are the vicious egotists that pursue it.
Unfortunately, I’ll miss these games today, heading to Lancaster Brewery for a brewery tour, (FREE BEER!)
I don't think he'll kick off, but he'll be able to tell by the squad he's in what is being made of him.
