Has anything bee Said about the teams? I would assume 1 game will be a reserve/kid’s team & the other will be the first team. This is our last game before the league kick off, so it’s got to be a full team, I would have thought!

On May 24th, 1884, Peterborough became the first city in Canada with electric street lighting.

Peterborough is home to the oldest wheel in Britain.

Katherine of Aragon is buried in the Cathedral.

Holme Fen, 6 miles south of Peterborough, is the lowest point in Britian at 9 feet below sea level.

Sir Henry Royce was from Peterborough.

Peterborough is home to one of the largest concentrations of Italian immigrants in the UK. More recently Peterborough had taken up to 80% of the
65,000 people who had arrived from the Baltic states.

Peterborough is the largest town or city in the UK without any local radio of its own.

"The Posh", a moniker was coined in 1921, after Pat Tirrell, manager of Fletton United, was reported to say he was "Looking for posh players for a posh new team".

The original name of the town was Medeshamstede, “place of the spring by the river” run by the guy with the superb name of Sexwulf. It was also called
Gildenburgh for some reason. Due to repeated raids by the Danes, stronger fortifications were built, which were called St Peter's Burgh, hence the name.

Linguistically, yod-dropping is often heard from Peterborians, as in the rest of East Anglia, for example new as /nuː/.

It wasn’t always called Cambridge. In the Middle Ages it was known as Grantabridge, meaning the bridge over the river Granta (one of the sources of the River Cam).

Cambridge could be called the birthplace of football as we know it. The “Cambridge Rules” were drawn up at the University in 1863, and influenced the Football Association’s original rules.

University of Cambridge was founded in 1209 (by a group of scholars fleeing Oxford), making it the world’s fourth-oldest surviving university.

On hearing dogs were banned from rooms, Lord Byron, the famous Romantic poet, kept a bear while he was a student at Trinity College in the 1800s. The story goes that Byron purchased this unwieldy pet from Stourbridge Fair, which ran each year in Cambridge and was the largest medieval fair in Europe at its peak.

121 affiliates of the University of Cambridge have been awarded the Nobel Prize since 1904.

The Eagle pub was where scientists Francis Crick and James Watson announced their discovery of DNA in the 1953.

Oliver Cromwell, was laid to rest at Westminster Abbey, but his decapitated head is buried in the grounds of Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge.

Cambridge University Library is one of the UK’s six legal deposit libraries, which means it receives a copy of every book published in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The thermos flask was designed for highly technical laboratory purposes in Cambridge in 1892 by Sir James Dewar.

Sandy Douglas of the University of Cambridge created OXO in 1952. This was the first graphical computer game ever created.

The most well-known Cambridge-based band is Pink Floyd.

Not sure what the benefit was of playing full strengths Fenerbahce & Leicester spending most of the time defending and chasing shadows.
We look disjointed and will be for awhile yet.

Fitness, I imagine, GE. Fenerbahçe and Leicester both pressed quite high and took both games relatively seriously as far as friendlies go so it was a good run-out for the lads. Malaga and I imagine Peterborough are closer to the level of quality we’ll be facing this season, but not the tempo. Still think the likes of Tufan need a few more weeks before being fully match-fit. How we line up tomorrow and against Bristol City will be interesting. As others have said, Shota has recruited mainly for 4-3-3 but seems intent on playing 3-4-3.

I’m boring myself now saying it but we still need a ball-winning midfielder who can do the dirty work, whilst giving Seri and Tufan license to do the clever stuff, and another right-back as Emmanuel has a huge question mark regarding availability and I’m not convinced Coyle is good enough to start most games.

New Hull City signings Dogukan Sinik and Benjamin Tetteh are unlikely to be involved this weekend when Shota Arveladze splits his squad for games against Cambridge United and Peterborough United on Saturday.

Sinik's arrival was confirmed on Wednesday ahead of the 4-0 friendly loss to Leicester City, while Tetteh was at the MKM Stadium having agreed a two-year contract plus the option of a third, although the club are yet to officially announce the signing of Tetteh.

Though both Sinik and Tetteh have been working hard to keep fit throughout pre-season, they've only joined the Tigers' group this week and Arveladze admits they are a little way away from being ready to challenge for a place in City's starting XI.

Give them game time even if it’s for 20 minutes.
That’s what these games are for.

Hope McCann gets a good reception. Navigated us through a really tough period with very limited resources.
