But winks has had the odd good game here and there. You are talking about a sustained run of very very good form. Goal scoring, creating chances and defending well.
You may well be right, but imo he has earned the chance to be the number one right back going into the new season

He was instrumental in Bergwijn's winner, as he sent a hospital ball to Hojbjerg from the kickoff and we went 3-2 up within seconds

All that came against cannon fodder though. He didn't get goals or assists in the Utd, Brighton and West Ham games, the three teams that weren't relegation candidates.

It's dangerous to be banking on a player that has been poor for over 90% of his Spurs career just because he had a good four or so weeks.

I think that Doherty's game is Conte's game.
He needed to get over covid and sort out his fitness, then he slotted in naturally.
Even looked decent at left wingback, particularly against Newcastle.

Didn't even mention Kane. Skipp's also developed very well.
Kulusevksi turned into a massive talent just by signing on loan! <laugh>

Sending academy players out on loan to clubs increasingly
closer to the level you play at etc does not count as "develop" .

It does if it works. Almost an essential part of the process nowadays.

    Well that rules out Weghorst...

It's worth noting that Christian Eriksen and Michael Olise haven't been vaxxed

Apparently Chelsea enquired about Spence but he was intent on joining us.

Rumours coming up about Zaniolo again, especially now Roma’s nabbed Dybala on a free. If Zaniolo had cartilage in his knees I’d love him here as he’s a proper baller and fits the creative attacking mid/ wide midfielder role but we’d be basically bringing in another Lamela - and it’s typical it’d be from the same club! Rodon being mentioned as part of the deal too. I do wonder if this has legs though and that the clubs will try getting it done before we play one another in Israel.

Emerson also still expected to leave.

Milan also apparently looking at Ndombele as well as Tanganga. The former as a potential Kessie replacement. Remain calm, everyone, remain calm.

An American investment firm owns 99.93% of Milan

Levy is going to enjoy this...

L'Equipe claim that we were offered Nordi Mukiele for £17m, but Conte passed on it

So he's off to PSG instead

The Guardian (according to Spurs Web, not seen the actual article) are saying these are up for transfer:

Emerson, Doherty, Tanganga, Winks, Lo Celso, Ndombele and Gil.

Think Gil is up for loan and not a permanent sale based on other reports. Reguilon and Rodon not on that list but I think we all know they’re available.

I can actually see most of those going whether it be permanent deals, loan to buys or just loans, the only iffy part is that we’re likely gonna have to conclude them very late in the window, probably even on deadline day, where we eventually lower our asking price and buying clubs become desperate for a few deals.

Ndombele we're stuck with until Elon Musk buys an MLS franchise

I was half hoping Newcastle may have been dumb enough to spend some of their new found cash on Ndombele and Lo Celso but guess that’s just a pipe dream.

As previously announced, Yves Bissouma will wear number 38 during our pre-season fixtures, although supporters are reminded that this may not be representative of his finalised squad number for 2022/23.”

In other words, hurry up and **** off, Harry Winks <laugh>
