This was posted on Twitter…..apparently from the Everton v Minnesota friendly last night doesn’t really give anything away but he didn’t say no!!
You’re minding your own business in Minnesota and then up pops this lad. It’s like an opening monologue from Athletico Mince.
Lost the plot , the dressing room , his ego will always be an issue - he had to go quickly the situation was becoming toxic . The Keane saga slowed the process but at least we ended up with a Manager who knows what he is doing , knows what he wants , and results to date can’t be faulted.
Cheeky smirk and a shrug of the shoulders suggests to me he’s coming back. Then again, I thought the same when Roy Keane did his little ‘no comment’ on ITV.
It wont let me post the video on here, so here's a screenshot instead. A Sunderland fan approached him last night sat on the bench for Everton in their 4-0 defeat. He was full of smiles, and shrugged his shoulders and laughed when the fan asked him if he was coming back? At least we know he's still in America, so any potential signing is still a while away.
Shyte sorry ive just seen this has already been posted. Im at work so i havent been keeping up with the thread
You can't say about automatics...that's just a guess. Agree Keane got in the way, but,the right appointment was eventually made and we got away with it in the end. As far as recruitment is concerned,KS has done a great job. The squad is transformed into a young, vibrant, talented group. Gone are the journeymen and people who don't fit....even when we get it wrong,we get rid....eg Hoffman and Alves. I know there are those on the inside who say he's egocentric etc.,but, looking at where we are now from when he came in,I just can't see where the criticism of Speakman's performance so far comes from.
Getting pumped off Minnesota is a shambles even in pre-season. Lampard is gash they really need to realise quick sharp that he ain’t gonna be a win for them.
I think some of the criticism for Speakman comes from the fact we are used to slating DoFs, after De Fanti and Congerton. Some of the latter’s signings took us years to get over.
Agree. As fans we can be forgiven for being somewhat sceptical.....our recent history makes us very nervous.
Friendlies are definitely just for fitness - but I’d argue that totally writing off the results when they’re awful is foolish - obviously dependant on who’s starting, how far the teams are into their pre-season, how many subs are made etc. Remember getting walloped 5-0 off Celtic before the awful championship season and we could all see just how bad we were..
I agree. I think he is a really poor manager and have no idea how he got the Everton job. I hope he improves, but I would be surprised.
