Norway would be a better team if they played someone(anyone) on the left. Their manager should have been sacked on the spot

Alongside fellow former England player Alex Scott, Ian Wright worked for BBC Sport at England's record win against Norway.

Didn’t get back in until half an hour or so ago, but the last 20 mins of the England Spain match has been really good

    Extra time now

The women's national team really puts a good performance every game, think we should get Weigman as our manager.

The improvement in the standard in just a few years is remarkable. Shows the impact of playing full time as professionals.

It’s still not my cup of tea but there’s no denying the improvement has been enormous. A lot of technically gifted players.
The improvement in keepers hasn’t been nowhere near as stark though. Maybe because it’s a more physically demanding position? Reflexes and the ability to propel yourself around the goal seems to be lacking in the woman’s game.

I would love the club to approach Weigman i think she is a class manager and knows her stuff.

She certainly appears to be very astute. A stark contrast to the media darling Emma Hayes who just trots out buzz words and speaks absolute nonsense.

I prefer the measured approach of Sarina Weigman myself but, to dismiss Emma Hayes as nothing but a media darling, trotting out buzz words and nonsense is pretty churlish - her list of managerial honours is impressive by any standards.

I understand that I’m well in truely in the minority here. I just think she talks absolute bollocks. There’s never any substance or actual in depth knowledge that comes through in any of her analysis. It’s all low block, high press, transition etc etc without offering any insight into what’s actually happened. It’s like she’s swallowed a fisher price my first coaching manual and is spitting out random phrases.

They really should just make the goals smaller. Most of the keepers aren’t breaking 6’

It certainly wouldn’t do any harm but I still feel the there’s just a massive disconnect between what a male keeper and a female keeper can do physically and reflex wise. Whereas with the outfield players the difference physically isn’t an issue as there’s another 19 players around a similar level. Coupled with the big step up in technical quality, it has made it a much better spectacle. I have no idea what the solution is but the goalkeepers have only improved a tiny fraction compared massive increase of quality in outfield players.

Viewing figures peaked at 7.6m last night, impressive considering barely anyone likes women's football...
