Combinations are just as important as fitness for a team with new players. Can't get combinations going watching Leicester have 70% of the ball.

Turned up in the second half by subbing on their first team and playing like it was a cup final. What a bunch of nerds.

I mean, technically was a cup final, but still.

Who can forget one of our most impressive preseasons under Hateley? He stated that we had set our standards and must now maintain them after impressive displays including wins against teams from higher leagues. Full of expectation a good following travelled down to Mansfield on a lovely sunny day. The warmup looked impressive and more professional than previous seasons. Then the match started…

I am imagining John McEnroe’s response to that statement.

Honeyman wouldn’t have made a ****sworth of difference in that game. He would have been out of his depth

Never bothered, same as this game, I just wanted to say now, that my thoughts on Shota haven’t changed from last season, I still hope he succeeds, I just don’t have faith in him as the manager/ head coach.
I’m looking forward to him proving me wrong!

Tonight was a game about fitness and gelling. We're not gonna come up against a team like that again this season in our League. So why are people judging them harshly?

Well that showed where we're at!

Big step up in quality and organisation. Some nice moments in the first half and some moments of good one touch football and I'm sure it'd have been different if we weren't playing a Premier league side.

I still hate playing three at the back but that's personal preference.

Thought Seri looked a step ahead in footballing intelligence but he can't do it all on his own. And Oscar looked a handful.

Bloody hell there’s a load of negative nellies on here tonight. Nearly 13k turnout for a weeknight friendly, with hardly any away fans. Bodes well for the season. All the new players look like they’re bringing something to the team. First half the teams looked more evenly matched. (Second half they just took the piss, brand new team of course they’re going to still be looking fresh at 75 minutes compared to City). Madison’s goal was rather good - and does anyone know the story behind him giving his boots to a kid in East Stand? Owners seats in West Stand look like they’ve had an upgrade. Lots to look forward to this season.

if you want a legitimate moan, how about the ridiculous queues to get in - always for evening games, why?! And the PA in East. They’ve obviously done something to it, but it’s still duff. Now you can’t make out a single word !

We absolutely need a big fella as a defensive midfielder alongside Seri. Seri looks different class on the ball but a large part of his mistake for the first goal was being bullied off the ball too easy. We seem to move the ball better than last season.
