That's true, but I'm more worried by Beale saying we were after getting 1 or 2 more deals done. If we get the Brighton lad and a right back I'm presuming that's it ! We lost 10 players and already had one of the smallest squads. We are gonna be awfully light at full backs and up top. Beale is gonna have to perform miracles as at the moment we're gonna be a couple of injuries away from being in deep ****.

WLS seems to be saying we're in the market for three more: right back, striker, and this Brighton mid.

Throw in some of the U23s that could be part of the first team squad this year (e.g. Masterson, Shodipo, Bonne) and the fact that some of the departed players were basically ineligible all or much of last year through lack of fitness (e.g. Austin/Wallace) and in terms of raw numbers I don't think we'll be dissimilar to last year.

The question is if the quality has improved - which we'll have to wait and see on. If we're gaining younger and better fullbacks, as well as two strikers, and haven't lost anyone who was first choice last season, we've arguably improved the first XI. Might have a more inexperienced bench, but we have to cut our cloth and give those players opportunities to prove themselves.

Other than we need a right full back from the market.. and a striker that scores (which I keep hoping we have already...but we will see).
We are where we were last season, but with expectations of some players stepping up a bit more.

We will be playing a different system and so counting up
    We are OK on goalies
    We are OK on CDs
We are OK on no10s (plus Shodipo in last 15 minutes)

We are not very creative in the midfield engine room
We are light on full backs (Paal, Kakay, Adomeh (!...not a full back) and Hamalaain (!!) and Drewe)
We have the right number of CF ( but possibly not the right quality...Dykes, Bonne, Kelman, Armstrong)

We are definitely looking for at least another 3 players (RB, CF, and a creative midfielder) and we are hoping we can get a few of our u23 up to squad level (Drewe, Masterson, Gubbins, Da Silva, Bettache, Duke-McKenna, Pedder, Armstrong and Kargbo have all been mentioned as possibilities)

Still zero talk of any potential strikers.

I hear that barristers, train drivers and posties are all available strikers.

    Most barristers are self employed.

Yeh, they're on strike but still getting paid, no doubt.
They wouldn't be striking for free.
They earn more in a day than most of us earn in a week or three.

After at least five years of study and training, junior barristers can expect to earn less than minimum wage at an average of around £12,200 annually during their first three years as a barrister.
