Couple of weeks til season starts. Bit disappointed we're kicking off with an almost identical starting XI. Pope's hardly a big signing, slight upgrade - arguably - on Dubravka - so it's really just Botman. Not a great Summer, that's for sure. Quite far under my expectations, I really thought they'd do better than this.
Haha quality. I remember the black market for usb sticks with porno images on at secondary school 15-20 years ago. The school assembly with the headmaster threatening to "come down hard" on the perpetrators for was hilarious. The staff were so serious and blushing and we were all rolling around laughing our heads off!
I asked him what happened, he said he searched google for minecraft drawings and the site that came up was minecraft characters undressing and "cudling naked" so he had to tell his teacher
I've phoned his mum, his granny, his papa, his uncle ........everyone properly howling. Out of the whole school if anyone was gonna do it, it was gonna be him
I get that in regards to player purchases although I'd stress there is still a while left in the market 5/6 weeks yet and there may be some surprises along the way... BUT they have done well this summer They've re-painted St James' pretty much top to bottom. Started work on the training ground. Bought in 3 youth players as well as the senior players. Got Ashworth and this new guy in as DOF and CEO respectively. Got shot of Clark, Henderson, Hayden and likely Gayle already and I'm sure theres a few more outgoing happening in the background. Done a proper training camp in Austria as opposed to hopping on the megabus/minvans to York. Add that to the £90m they spent in January and I don't think we can be to upset at what's happened so far.
Ha ha reminds me of a day when we first discovered ms paint (the drawing app) and we scanned in a page 3 model and the head teachers head and popped it on the model. What we didn’t realise is that when we did this and saved it it went into the only network there was at the time of which the IT manager had full access. Two weeks of detention I did for that. But I said it was self taught and I should have got top marks.
Well when you put it that way you sensible non delusional normal person yes. But we are the Geordies….. the …..
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it as I cant be arsed going back over 10 pages of cr@p but a private jet arrived in Newcastle this morning from Saltzburg.....
I have to say I think i was expecting more and given how low my expectations were I'm guessing the penny is dropping with the delusionals. Luke Edwards may be a cretin, but he wasn't wrong about the reality.
Yep, seems to be the goal next season isn't really lofty or aspirational, it's a bit of a make do and mend whilst they build the commercial profile. Without being rude, the transfers are really bare minimum based on the neglect from Ashley. I think we've more or less stood still on where we finished last season, we haven't addressed the creativity/lack of goals and we've upgraded on our ageing, and crap, defence. We've now got two decent keepers instead of one, same left back, better CB than Burn starting. Botman was likely better than we'd have got under Ashley but Targett and Pope aren't. Guess I'm just kinda really disappointed we haven't kicked on with some exciting signings. Spending 5 months chasing Ekishitty is looking stupider by the day. I mean, where's that £30m gone? We had it on a table, how have we got no other £30m players available to us?! It's a bit mystifying. But that's it. I know we're fed these stories of "Shelvey ready to go", "Wilson ready to step up" or "Howe expects more from his attackers" but history tells us Shelvey will produce one decent game every 6, Wilson will get injured within a month and all four wide players will be lucky to be involved in more than 8 goals between them. Maybe Howe will continue to produce miracles, but that's what they are and let's not forget the games against Spurs and City where we had our arses handed to us. What have we added to the team to ensure those games aren't repeated?
It says something when Wilson missed half a season and still ended up our top scorer. There is plenty of time but I would much rather have had the players through the door already. I don’t think we are going to be the next Man City. Would you say your worried?
