If it's this guy I can tell you he's a highly regarded young striker. Good: He's only 19 and he's played 13 times for his national side already (scoring twice). He's being watched by a number of clubs and is expected to move somewhere bigger in the next few years Bad: He only plays in the Autrian League and has only really scored prolifically (22 goals in 44 games) in the Austrain second division which I'd imagine is more like league 2 or the national leagues...
It is but when ther likes of Karim Adeyemi are going for £26m (and he's a much safer bet to do very well) you've got to hope we're paying more like £15m.
Sorry to clarify. Adeyemi was at RB Salzberg and tore the league up last season, previously he had been on loan to Leifering (in Austrain second division) and bagged 15 goals in 35. He's likely to do very well at Borussia Dortmund next season, who have bought him as a replacement for Haaland (they also had Haller but he's now not going ot be involved). Sesko is also at RB Salzberg and has spent the last season on loan at Leifering (getting 22 in 44 games) and is lined up to be the Adayemi replacement for RB Salzberg. He's following the exact same path and currently doing just as well. He's a year younger and a year behind. Personally I'd be surprised if RBS let him go, they don't need the money. My concern is that we overpay on the basis he's "as good as Adeyemi" and yet he hasn't had the year at the top flight with European football exposure etc. I can see us paying more than we should as, like I say, RBS don't need to sell.
If he's as good as expected then he'll be worth £20-30 million in a year or two and £40 in another few. But that's IF. In fairness I'd heard of this guy and couldn't have said the same for Ekitike prior to our interest. As a general rule, young players from the Red Bull teams are very good. They scout around and seem to buy the best. Ilaix Moriba is a beast who I think would be a great addition - reckon he's looking for a move too.
Sesko video for those who haven't seen him like me - looks like he's got "great feet for a big man" and some flair and trickery up his sleeve - also like the fact he seems to be able to finish first time instead of needing a touch to set himself. Looks like he can play across the front 3 which is what we need. Only question mark is can he cut it in a bigger better league. He's young so not a starting XI type player I'd imagine but one to develop and could be a good option off the bench.
I'd rather they brought in young talent at this point. We've got enough good characters and older more experienced pros to show them how to behave
