Don't think FFP applies to holding companies/owners, just the club incomings and outgoings can't be more than 13m average annual loss in a rolling 3 years - though there are exceptions for infrastructure investments, academies and the like.

The only way we can trouble FFP is if there's a danger of spending 39m over any other income (ie transfers out) in any rolling 3 year period. Share issues have been used in the past to circumvent but I think that's tighter now.

I don't think there'd be a meeting if we were just spending the KLP money, as that would be net zero.

People seem to equate breeching FFP with some sort of catastrophic financial meltdown. It isn't. It will just incur a punishment depending on the severity of breech.

Derby dint get relegated because of FFP, they got relegated because Mel Morris spunked a load of cash and couldn't sustain the mess he made without promotion so dumped them in admin.

Reading breeched FFP and survived with their deduction

Wouldn't want to breech it ourselves though.

He's been at Trabz 4 seasons and been ranked in the top 5 players in the Turkish League in all of them. Considering some of the players in that league, it's a ridiculous achievement.

It's pretty unlikely that he'll have £30m just lying around though. Didn't he just buy the rights for Kappa in Turkey too? He's got so much going on

Just give his YouTube clips a watch. I always take them with a pinch of salt but he just ties defenders in knots seems really unselfish and looks an incredible athlete

They would have known that when they ratified the purchase.

They would have known how much we were paying Seri, Estupinan etc when they ratified the purchase?

Or a king power sponsoring Leicester, perhaps?

Sports Direct naming St James's Park?

Except this isn't a sponsorship. Its a TV channel paying a football club (and the EFL/opposition a cut) for the right to show games.

They would have known the structure of the purchase.

Is it a leveraged purchase? You presume it is for a reason I assume?

Or are you just convinced he doesn't personally control much money, despite trotting about the place in his private jet like its an Uber?

120 games, 41 goals, 36 assists in Turkish Super Lig, mostly from the left. Spends a bit of time injured.

    Like the Nigerian Stuart Elliott.

It's on WhoScored and you can just go through the years.

    https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/2...5/PlayerStatistics/Turkey-Super-Lig-2021-2022

For example, last year he was ranked top with an average rating of 7.54/10. On that site, you've had a very good season if you average over 7. Keano averaged 6.82 for us.

It's not just about goals/assists it's about an all-round game too. For example, there's only one player in the PL from last season that has a higher score, that's obviously not to say he's a top PL at all, but it does show that he's way too good for the level he's currently playing at.

It's a clear indication that he's one of the very best players in the Turkish League

No, but they'd have had to submit and gain approval of a businessplan to pass the owners and directors test, which by very nature would have outlined budgets and funding.

It's an owner paying himself money. They closed that loophole after the stadia issue.

And this meeting may have just been to ensure we were within that budget. They might be a bit twitchy after Derby's issues, who knows. I don't think it's because we plan to rack up 39m of losses.

I'm working on the assumption Toast has correct information of course otherwise this entire conversation is redundant. It's why I qualified my initial post with "if" Toast is correct about him using a loan to buy the club.

I am not ITK and do not understand FFP so have nothing to say on the matter other than you may have spelled breach incorrectly.

Smallwood told The Yorkshire Post: “It was a bit disappointing, to be fair, with how it ended. I felt like I had a really good season.

“Probably my best season in the Championship that I have had over the course of my career.

“I played 42 games and I think the impact in the team spoke for itself. In the games I didn’t play, the team didn’t win and I think that speaks volumes.

“And then I was disappointed in the way there was no contract or anything. No new terms and not even the option taken.

“It was a bit disappointing in just finding out literally two minutes before the retained list. It was certainly not ideal.

“But I have been around the game for a number of years and it is a different business and it is out on its own really. They (clubs) don’t look after the players in the way they should.

“It is one of those things. You have to put it behind you and move on.

“I really enjoyed my time there, had success and gave it my all. It’s a shame there was nothing there, but it is a new challenge now and I will hopefully hit the ground running and play as well as I did last season.”

    W14 D9 L23. We didn't win 32 games - was that a 74 game season?

I think he's right, from memory, I don't think we won any game he didn't play in.
