Decent from Neil. I didnt watch the game last night, but always good to hear him speak. I would however pick him up on a couple of points where I reckon he is wrong, irrespective of last nights game, (how arrogant of me eh, he has been foot perfect, almost, since he arrived so I am a cheeky beggar). Jack Clarke cant play through the middle. He said he can, without it being his favoured position, but I reckon he is wrong <laugh> I have seen nothing from Clarke to suggest he can be effective there - no back to goal stuff, no playing on a shoulder, no aerial presence, not great at starting the press. Jack is tremendous at all the stuff a wideman needs. It is odd to me that Clarke and Dajaku were in different sides, and I am sure that will be changed, as Dajaku would be a better option in the middle as is anything but a left sided player.

I also dont like the 3 at the back setup for those players. It is fundamentally negative, which at times is no bad thing, but takes some really good players to make it work. I am all for flexibility and playing different formations, but not much point playing that formation with a relatively lightweight midfielder in there. If you are doing that, and having Matete and ONien in a side you arent going to be carrying any threat of playing forward quickly, and will therefore concede territory easily.

Anyway Alex, if you are reading, I love you really, and only sharing in the interest of debate on here. Dont ring me with a coaches job, I am happy in deepest darkest non-league <laugh><laugh>

Last night was an invitation to players like Diamond to put up or shut up imo ...

... and also a nudge from Neil to the club.

As a wavering fan of Diamond, I agree he has showed nothing to date. Lee Howey, who must have had a better view than me, remarked, he was making runs, but no one from mid field was picking him out. I don't think he ,Clarke or Dajaku ,can in any way replace an absent Ross Stewart , and I doubt anyone does tbh..
