Looking forward to the Seventh Sealed.

I think transfers are always a bit of a crap shoot, but there are a very few people who really know what they're doing, and Paratici and Conte are two of them.

It's interesting to see Conte auditioning wingbacks, for example. He seems to want four good enough to compete for big trophies. He's got one now, Perisic, and is looking at whether Sessegnon, Emerson, Doherty, Moura and maybe Harvey White are good enough. If they are, fine. If they aren't, he'll press to get players who are, and move on anyone who didn't work out, as he did Reguilon. It's cold-blooded, especially in the case of Reguilon, who genuinely cared about Spurs, but it's what needs to be done to win things.

Mrs RCL took me to a showing of the seventh seal about 6 or 7 years back ... a couple of students were chatting pretentious ****e about it ... very loudly... commenting on how few people understand the underlying themes of life and death...then they got lost trying to get out of the cinema <laugh>

The underlying themes of life and death? Death's one of the main characters! <laugh>

Sounds like me. I'm not wild about most Bergman movies, including the Seventh Seal, which I vaguely remember trying to watch. But I watch them anyway, because Swedish sometimes sounds like a language I know with a funny accent and melody, which is pleasantly odd, and his characters tend to speak slowly and distinctly.

I absolutely love Persona, though.

Seriously...they were the most annoying ponced up horsey mofos imaginable...
I try not to openly take the piss outta others but I openly pissed myself... when they walked to the wall end of the row instead of the aisle end and looked puzzled I actually wondered if there was a God <laugh>

Which is one of the underlying themes, rather ironically! <laugh>

About to join Forest, apparently. Didn't expect that, if true.

So many people do not understand the true message of the film :

NEVER tell anyone your best chess moves

Some bloke on radio…journo…missed his name

was saying that Conte admitted that he didn’t want Spence and it was more a desire of the club

Tbf Spence has looked decent at the level he played, now he has to transfer that to the PL in a team/club that expects.

true but I can also see him spending time on the bench…if it’s not a Conte buy…hopefully not though…I enjoyed watching him destroy the Goonz…was it FA cup magic or is he a baller?

let’s see

It's all good, Conte green lit it and says Spence can become an important player, Ally Gold's confirmed it. The club wanted Spence as he fits our usual bread and butter type signing but he wouldn't have joined if Conte didn't give it the thumbs up. Apparently Conte has final say on transfers, without his approval they won't join.

Supposedly, we've been keen on him since he was in Fulham's academy. AS DH says, nobody's pretending that he's Conte's preferred option and he's not going to be an immediate first choice, but he's HG with lots of great attributes and a very high potential ceiling for £12.5m. It's been suggested that Dortmund were very keen amongst others and they can spot young talent.

I can see him playing domestic cup games and being useful off the bench in PL games, maybe starting a few against lesser opposition. For the money, he's a decent prospect...who could just be another Kyle Walker.

The thing is, Dortmund develop young talent into stars. How have you done recently with that?

Dier and Dele cost £9m collectively and were regular internationals, before the first suffered an illness that took him 2 years to recover from and Dele suffered from his best (only?) position being taken by Son. They followed on from Walker, Rose and Dawson. However, he doesn't have to become a star to represent good value and a worthwhile signing. If he gives good decent service, like Ben Davies has, no problem.

Not that it matters what previous regimes or players did...or didn't do. If Conte agreed to the signing, the bloke has a chance. If he's got the mentality to go with the talent that the club and coach have seen, he'll do alright. We're light on HG talent and his transfer fee is pretty low, so it's a low cost punt with minimum downside. We haven't spaffed £50m on Wan Bissaka.
