After the Villa game, Harrison was asked about the speculation with Newcastle.

He replied “We’ll see, we’ll see what happens.”

We need to remember, he only signed a three-year contract with us, and 20 percent of the fee will go to Manchester City!

Dont forget Mauro Icardi who is also a worldy

    Sampdoria 33 games 11 goals

    Afternoon all

There is so much lazy journalism it is hard to know what has substance and what is a complete non starter.

I know we have brought players in but the excuse for not spending after Christmas was a mixture of Bielsa not wanting what he was offered and it would dent transfer funds for this season.

With the sale of both KP and Raphinha I would have hoped there was still a chunk of money available for a marquee type signing, maybe there is and we just cannot attract them.

I have always said KP and Bamford were vital in a Bielsa team, without him they should both be "easier" to replace

We can't afford to let Paddy go yet and yet I know we are all going to be sighing deep breathes at his missed chances

    Morning all.
Do you mean proven Premier League goal scorer and England international Patrick Bamford?

Yeah let's get rid of him too.

    I love it! It's hilarious.

I think there's a serious question of is he going to become Forshaw mark 2. In 2 years he's gonna be 30. Do we want to spend x amount of years with him being injured and only getting a handful of games off him when there's younger players who could do a job for us.

In a perfect world we would buy someone better than Bamford which would give us healthy competition for the #9 Jersey.

I've never been the biggest Bamford fan. I've laid in to him in the past but I have to admit he shut me up in that first season in the PL. He was outstanding. Fair play to him. He had injury problems last year but I wouldn't necessarily bin him because of that. The reaction is to get someone who can not only stand in for him but legitimately challenge him for his place.

Unfortunately they don't come cheap. Not sure we can go for a youngster either. I think the club are rightly thinking of splashing the cash on a lad who has room to improve but already has a couple of seasons under his belt.

    It's a tough market.

When Forshaw is fit he's a player. Bamford had pretty much a year out but before that he was a top PL striker. I just don't understand why people write players off so quickly.
Give him a chance just like we did Forshaw. I really don't think we'd have stayed up last season without Forshaw so thank God we didn't just bin him.
Selling Paddy now would be crazy. After a season out we'd have to give him away so what's the problem with seeing how he does for us?

    That's why I think it's a crazy discussion.

I think Rennes have over priced him. I get he's got 21 goals last season but he's a little known Ligue 1 player I reckon £15 to £20 million is more realistic.

You summed up the answer in your first word. 'WHEN'. Forshaw has spent a stupid amount of time injured and he's a drain of wages He's also 30 years old. How long do we carry him? If Bamford spends next season injured how long do we carry him? Yes Bamford is a talent but I don't want to carry Bamford to the end of his contact only playing a handful of games for 4 years.

Just realised that I don't know if Raphinha had a sell-on clause that we have to pay out on. Anyone know the details?
