We likely have the future quality LB already with us ( Fleming). No need to rush his development nor to piss him off by bringing in another LB ahead of him not to spend for that position when it's not really needed as a priority. I expect that is the club's logic.
If we did bin Elder now, bringing in his replacement would be tricky. Do you bring in an experienced player of high quality who'll likely start for Fleming to learn off or a younger player who might be behind Fleming in his development.
I think Fleming is the better LWB, and Elder is a more solid option at LB. Given our tactical approach, I think we’ll see more of Bob Fleming than Elder this coming season.
