Think there are plenty of women's sports that are either better or equally as good as men's to watch: Golf - no difference. They don't hit the ball as far but no difference in their skills around the green and just as good to watch. Tennis - better. Not as dominated by serve so more rallies and the 3 set format in majors makes it more exciting throughout. Womens tennis is much more open at the moment with no players dominating. Athletics - no difference as the level of competition is just as intense so doesn't make any difference absolute speeds/jump heights/distances etc Show jumping - compete together anyway, not sure whether horses are mixed. In terms of equal pay it should be based on the crowds, tv money and sponsorship money it generates. The clamour for equal pay in Soccer came from the womens national team in the States which was actually more popular and more successful than the Mens game at National level.
Golf a sport? Spoils a good walk. Womens tennis I can’t watch it because of the noises they make. It just puts me off. Athletics I agree but I have just read an article about money in athletics dropping off a cliff. Show jumping……..
I'm guessing you didn't watch the Nadal v Medvedev Australian Open final? Half the men are just as bad but Seles and Sharipova gained a quick reputation for being horrible for it and it's stuck. As an aside, if you didn't watch to watch Sharapova due to the grunting then I'll watch her on two screens.
