The Algerian wont come to us purely as a bench warmer as I've already stated he's looking for regular first team football.

To be fair all players say that. I've never heard a player say they're looking to move to sit on the bench at a different club!!

If we are looking at him, or any other defender they cannot expect to just walk into the team. As others have said, we have one of the best defensive records in the league, but we will suffer from injuries, suspensions, loss of form etc so anyone we get in will get a chance.

At the moment though no need to change anything

I always thought the same about Lucas at Liverpool, you put him in a midfield against Gerrard, Alonso and Macharano and wonder why he looked poor!

Hobbs is a decent defender, however Chester is better and takes the plaudits. We do need a defender, but for cover, not to replace either of Hobbs or Chester

I don't know why you bothered in the first place OLM <laugh>

You can bet your house that as soon as you as much as hint at disagreeing with THETIGERSHULL that he will jump straight into the defensive position of 'I'm entitled to my OWN opinion'

Yes, sir, we know you are, you don't need to tell us every time!

    A replacement for Hobbs .

What planet are you on TTH ?

NP rates the lad very highly , to the point of making him skipper .
The reason being that Hobbs is a very good player with the potential to be even better . That 's my opinion and I dare say NP's as well.
This isn't an opinion born out if Hobbs' performance against Forest . Look back at any of my posts since he arrived and you'll see I 've been saying it all along .

Why on earth would you want him replacing ?
Makes not one bit of sense .
    Just my opinion mind .

Quite rightly everyone is entitled to an opinion, here is mine:

Our current Gk and Back Four are the best defensive unit I have seen play for City (followed City since late 80's)

Yes, I accept that Myhill, Ricketts, Gardner, Turner, Dawson was a hell of a unit and played in a higher league, but for me Myhill was shakey at crosses and distributuion was poor, Gardner was always injured, and the was little room for Develpment (other then Turner who I thought could play for England in the future before his injuries).

Our current lot are young (except Basso), all have bright futures, and look like a true unit, and certainly one that could perform in the premiership next season.

If we do sign a defender then it will be for cover only, and there are several young lads who need experience at big clubs
