I know it’s been a few years but that disaster of a championship side we had last time around still only went down by 6 points, think what we have now puts 3/4 past them so I think we’ll be fine, might not challenge but I don’t think we’ll be in a relegation fight

Half decent GK that season and we would’ve stayed up…

Do you not think given the young squad the whole squad has got better without any signings though? I do and I like it

Although we ultimately ended up 5th, if Neil had've come in say, 6 weeks earlier we may well have gone up automatically.

I know what your saying and believe we will strengthen, but if we'd had the right manager at the start of the season we would have won the league with that squad

Putting it in to some sort of perspective the group of players that we finished the season with put a fantastic run together under Alex Neil and we have still got them at the club apart from Doyle who we won’t have , Broadhead who we would like to sign and the released players who I would suggest we needed to move on . The incoming players over the recent transfer windows have moved the squad and the club forward and don’t forget the window doesn’t close till the 1st September so our boys in the data and recruitment teams will be crunching numbers to identify targets and late targets that suddenly become available . I personally think that the club is being managed at all levels to the best standard during the time I have being going to games which is over 60 years , couple of gripes are the club shop and the ticket office which should be open to exploit our upward trajectory apart from that KLD and his management staff are doing us proud -keep up the good work !!!

Its his wages that are the problem as LND will want equal wages blowing our pay system to bits

Not really mate, I don't hope they've got better I think they have, by think I mean believe. Obviously better is subjective but that's where I'm at. Fair play you might agree, or think differently, but it's neither hope or expectation from me. I think the young players have got better and we have a lot of young players so the squad is better without signing anyone. Feel free to tell me I was talking ****e when it all goes wrong like! <laugh>

I’m not saying they won’t get better, but it’s a hope not expectation that they are championship level

Haha! I'm not communicating well here. I'm saying I think they have got better not that I hope they will. Anyhow mate this is turning into a python sketch so I'll leave it there. I'm pretty optimistic, you sound like you want to wait and see I think, which is fair. Have a top one, let's hope whatever team starts the season has a blinder whether it be greatly improved youth or desperately needed additions or even a combination of the two <cheers>

Been spot on so far imo. The players I wanted us to keep have been procured, albeit Broadhead pending, and we've signed Ballard who I think will be massive for us.

So far so good. No worries at all from me because as we all know most business is done at the back end of the window which is a way off yet.

Don't need a upgrade on Evans, he is more than capable of playing at championship level. But there is still work to do as Neil has already said

Broadhead is looking for similar to what he gets at Everton.
If he gets that, others in the team will want a big pay rise, that's what the club are worried about

Part of the reason we finished in that position was the change in manager and the length of time it took to get a replacement but the form of the team for last few games was very good and imo of a championship standard. I am quietly optimistic for this year, but am not getting carried away and predicting winning the league(unlike Adrian Durham on TS) or anything like that but believe we will be competitive
