I don't think we are going to gauge our season from a few friendlies. I think the first ever PL 6 weeks world cup break from November 12 to December 26 could be a bigger factor in so many ways. I think now is as good a time as any for Saints to experiment with younger players but there could be disadvantages as well as positives for us. The long break could help the squad initially if results are good and give the coaches time to bring some new players up to speed who find it difficult adapting to the pace of PL football. On the other hand if results are bad and Sport Republic lose faith with Ralph, the 6 week break would give them enough time to sack Ralph and find a new manager. Either way it is gearing up as a make or break season for Ralph and I hope he succeeds in what could be his penultimate season at Saints.
Small is playing way too far forward on the left, several balls have been player behind him on their right.
I see arch moaner, Jamie Stone, on Facebook saying “terrible team selection”. Truly understanding the purpose of pre-season football as much as he understands…well…any football during the actual season.
I know this is mainly a fitness exercise but i've never seen us play so lopsided, Small is hardly ever back in our half.
Smallbone pulling the strings, an assured performance thus far. Valary playing well also. Che, well... less said the better. Hopefully he will improve.
Amazing that it seems the majority of players who got thirty minutes in the first game, are the players that are getting sixty minutes in the second game. I mean it’s almost like it’s on purpose.
Exactly. You'd never know it looking at Facebook though. Well, you would know it, but they don't seem to.
