Exactly. I think it's important to recognise that even if you disagree with their politics, there are some MPs (not many!) who have principles. And Rory Stewart was someone I mentioned before. Hope the new PM has the sense to make him defence minister.
Not actually a requirement, but a convention and we know what this lot feel about them. If they wanted to do it legitimately, then they could put him in the Lords. Wouldn't be an outrageous move given his history.
Alex Douglas-Home was in the Lords before he was PM , denounced his peerage and then took up his seat in the commons after a guaranteed by election win ( that's one for the teenagers )
And then Tony Been used that precedent to set aside his title (given to his father for political services) and stay as an MP
