I was also impressed with his recent performances for ROI and he looked pretty good before his unlucky injury for us. I do think that he offers something different to the squad which could well be very useful during the season.
Every time I’ve seen Will Smallbone play I’ve been very impressed. He has a real deftness in his touch and but for his awful injury I think no he would’ve been a regular starter by now.
Interesting, if not purely to see them pushing forward other coaching staff to explain about their work too.
I don’t see anyone worrying because of a pre-season game. I see people worrying because the second half of last season we dropped off a cliff, were one of the worst teams in the league and we’re almost relegated. And we are currently worse going forward now than we were then as we are without Broja. Valid concerns worth talking about in a pre-season thread
But all the evidence says we're going to spend money on strikers. Ralph and the board are aware we need more strikers. It will happen. The sooner the better obviously but we also need to get it right so a bit of patience is required.
Pre-season sit down with Ralph on the pre-season schedule, being back in Austria, his family and the work ahead of the new season.
Match day again for Southampton as they take on SK Austria Klagenfurt at the Worthersee Stadion. Kick off is at 6pm .
Just had a look at latest relegation odds out of interest. We are currently the 4th favourites, three promoted teams ahead of us.
Difficult to argue with that given our terrible form at the end of last season. A lot will depend on how many of the new lads become starters and improve the performances.
Yeah as I said before you can make a strong case for us being the worst team that survived last year at this moment in time. If you compare our signings with say Leeds our signings are much more unknown/unproven so can see why the bookies would put them ahead of us. Also as I said before the three promoted teams all look poor to me so that should help us, and if the youngsters are PL ready that will also be massive.
6th favourite on Betfair exchange. There are acres of research showing that Betfair exchange odds are close to the actual odds of something happening so at the moment we look like we have about a 25% chance of the drop. 1.66 Bournemouth 1.97 Forest 2.36 Fulham 3.25 Leeds 3.35 Brentford 4.1 Southampton Vin
I can see Brentford struggling with second season syndrome and losing Eriksen is a massive blow for them.
Yep. They've signed the kiddy from Hull and the Scottish left back (who is very good) but I don't see many goals in them.
