I don't watch womens football I've got no interest whatsoever. It's been ruined before it ever got started. The so called big clubs wi nong everything.

The stuff about equal pay irritates me because it's not a real job.

It's got no history and it's sadly just a manufacturered parade.. Nowt wrong with it I'm just not interested.

They said that about men's football in 1890. Fortunately Sunderland won the league in 1892, which forever dispelled the notion that only big clubs win everything.

it's been created right from the off as a mirror image of the mens game. It's everything wrong with football with tits.

It hasn't really. If you did any research into women's football you will see that it started off as an amateur game, with a whole range of teams and without necessarily the female version of the big club teams. They got involved much later in the history as the clubs decided they wanted to promote equality and attract more women into the game. There is almost as big a league pyramid below the WSL as there is in the men's game.

Think its great that the top league is increasing the popularity of the game and hopefully some of the cash will flow down to grass roots level.

As a father whose daughter grew up playing football I find your views uninformed and misogynistic. You probably had bigger tits than most of them at one stage anyway.

Unfortunate choice of name but they can't get everything right.

What you don't know is that my mother managed a football team, so your patronising tone comes from an uneducated place.

It's already about man City Chelsea etc they've got all the money and it's a mirror imagine of the mens game, so I'm not wrong in saying that.

I don't like the mens game for the same reason, but I'm already addicted and I talk of my dislike about the big 6 and football being ruined alot.

I have the right to say I'm not interested without you taking some moral high ground mate

Let's not forget the thread itself is controversial

The goalkeepers in womens footie are laughable. I’m surprised White hasn’t scored 30 goals. Shearer would of bagged 3 hat tricks per game, the level of competition on the most part is ****e.

It's a ridiculous comparison, but I guess it doesn't matter. They are very good at football they just aren't as physically able as men.

The best women player will never be as good as the best mens player or good enough to play in the same league.

It's not like fallon sherrock throwing darts ft.

Didn’t the Aussie womens first XI get hammered 9-1 by some u-16 boys team from Melbourne or something?

I’m happy to see the game promoted and hope there are more and more young ladies getting involved. But the over promotion through ludicrous comparisons are just embarrassing. I scored a hat trick last week at my local leisure centre playing 5 a side with my mates, something Shearers never done.

They did indeed. The same thing happened to Aston Villa when they lost 3-0 (or 4-0) to their own youth team the season they got relegated >.<

Where is your evidence that it would happen every week? Screenshots or withdraw the statement please.

They're not as physically capable genetically.. Skill is only half the game...

If you put me in with professional women I'd have no chance, but women pros vs mens pros would be a rout in just the same way.

I agree with most of this but fail to see any screenshots.

And it still looks pretty ****ing amateur, even at the level of the Euros and the World Cup.

There is literally more talent and skill in the National League.

    Oh ok. I'll accept that.

As a serious point I just don't see the need to compare the two things anyway, I find it frustrating that the BBC continue to do so. I find some of the sereotypes a bit damaging as overall there is some decent skill on show in the womens game and they genuinely are much better at just getting on with the game (rather than a lot of the sportsmanship you get in the elite mens game) but that is primarily due to it being more comparable to lower leagues football - where there is less play acting in the mens game too - as opposed to women just being fairer). With no other football on at the moment I'd encourage people to give it a go but I know most wont so watch what you want to watch :)
