Having now watched the full game I'd say we're in for a long hard season and it's not that I don't rate the new players as in the main they look half decent. The problem is we'll struggle to score enough goals and teams that do that generally end up lower half. Hopefully there'll be 3 worse sides than us and whilst you would have thought that likely there are no guarantees. For the record Villa are now the team I most dislike...even more than scum & the ****ers from Merseyside.
To put a positive twist to this, most seasons two of the promoted teams go straight back down. If history repeats itself that improves our chances dramatically. We’ll just have to finish ahead of one of last years pl teams. Not an exact science but that’s the straw I’m clinging to for now
I'm devastated that no one is taking my randomly predicted where will we finish this season thread seriously, unless of course you are all waiting for my February prediction thread which I do take seriously. Last season we actually got 1 more point than I predicted. Season before we got 4 more points than I predicted. So no need to panic until February 2023

Sounds like vic is phoning round everyone as back up to cdk and kalimuendo. Not sure I care anymore who we sign as long as we sign someone who can lace up their boots whilst paddy and joffy keep the rehab team in work.
Not just paddy and joffy either. If they keep dropping at the current rate, one per game, well have no players fit at all by the time the World Cup comes around

exactly… people were pointing out that we still got injuries under marsch last year… like the previous 4 years wasn’t relevant (when ongoing repetitive Injuries are one of the ‘symptoms’ of overtraining). I’ve no idea whether overtraining was a significant issue or whether we were just plain unlucky, but it will be interesting to see how new and old players do after the break compared to last season. I doubt there are enough players in the squad for it ever to be statistically significant regardless… so the debate will rumble on!
