If you can’t get upset about a toilet in a council building being used by men and women then can you really get upset by anything ever?
Like the option of having pronouns on a name badge!!! I was almost as furious with that than I was when Greggs started to sell vegan sausage rolls!! Don’t they know I might accidentally go in there … accidentally ask for them, accidentally pay then eat them… what are those woke ****s turning this country into.., can’t even do Morris dancing anymore.. despite that boring **** being on in my local town centre yesterday
I genuinely don't understand the name badge thing. Mostly, it's possible to see what's making the anti-wokers froth at the mouth, however nonsensical their protestations may actually be, but I just can't see anything at all in that one.

It’s because of two factors, one it’s seen as a trans issue and trans people have been made out as this huge threat… despite there being nothing to back that up… and as soon as people associate the word ‘woke’ with anything, no matter what, it doesn’t matter they’re against it as they’ve been programmed to do so. People hate and are opposed to change… despite wanting changes and big changes happening when they were the younger generation and at that time, saw that as progress and a good thing.
Much of it in the Labour Party, since the unions have to approve any prospective parliamentary candidate. Unions are among the most conservative organisations in the UK. Excellent article yesterday in the Sunday Times by journalist Matthew Syed who is half Pakistani and couldn't get past the unions.
Most don't care about badges if voluntary. The complaint about trans activists is when they want to compromise women's privacy, safety and ability to compete in sport on a level playing field. JKR is dead right. It's a shame that decent trans people are being tainted by extremists like Stonewall.
Exactly. Plus you get idiots on here quoting and agreeing with the likes of Femi, who is such a racist himself.
I don't doubt that there are problems within the unions, racism is endemic in this country. Supporters of the Tory party hold it up as an example of equal opportunities because it has non-white people on its front bench, but these people have all either benefitted from opportunities not available to others through inherited wealth, or are willing to pretend that racism doesn't exist in order to advance themselves by appearing less threatening to the status quo. Pull up the drawbridge.
Syed didn’t mention his ethnicity in that article. He did get past the unions to stand twice for Labour. 41 out of 200 Labour MPs are from ethnic minority backgrounds, compared to 22 of 358 Tory MPs. You can work out the percentages. The Labour Party is just as **** as the Tory Party, in my opinion, but it’s MP representation is in fact more ‘diverse’ than the population as a whole (about 86% white, including non ‘British’ white). I’m sure there are entrenched interests which distort decisions on both the left and right and perhaps racism is an element in these distortions, but if the unions are racist and trying to influence MP selection they are doing a poor job of it. Perhaps Syed was as **** a candidate as he is a journalist and has a chip on his shoulder because he was rejected. 104 Labour MPs are women (more than half); 87 Tories (24%).
How have Stonewall U.K. been extremists, a powerful word that, in recent years? I’ve said previously I don’t agree with them with certain things but I suspect the word extremist is used so if they are labelled as such you can instantly dismiss everything they say. Safety? That’s a crock of ****, throw a couple of attacks in by trans people that all get highlighted bang you have a skewed perspective… how do you think that compares statistically by attacks by non trans people? If you are genuine about the safety of women you’d be more interested measures to tackle that… especially domestic abuse… weird how that’s not brought up by those concerned about the safety of women .. unless it’s about Trans people obviously, like the last time I remember the subject being mentioned on here. If all else fails throw in trans in sports… which is way more complicated than most people know about.. remind me of all those trans world champions again? Ohhh… anyway not for the same reasons but trans in sport should probably be dropped right now.. bigger fish to fry especially when there’s so much misinformation being peddled.
You would expect a high proportion of ethnic minority MP's in Labour, given that the party takes as much of it's support constituencies with high percentages of ethnic minorities particularly London. Even unions can't influence that. Interesting you didn't mention access to the front bench for e.m.'s which is far greater in the Tory Party. Home Sec, Foreign Sec, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Attorney General etc... the list goes on. The same goes for women. Two female leaders for the Tories, none for Labour. Despite his left leaning, I think Syed is one of the best journalists around. Perceptive and objective, I'll always make time to listen to, read or watch him.
It really doesn't matter.if you're female, male, black, white blah blah blah, if you ain't up to the job then you shouldn't be in it. Give me someone competent at the very least not those ministers you name above
Well, I’m not trying to defend Labour, just pointing out that the premise of your post, that the unions are racist and prevent selection of ethnic minority MPs, is unsubstantiated by facts. I’d pack the front benches with sky blue pink hermaphrodites if they were competent. Sadly there isn’t enough competence on either side of the house, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual preference, skin colour, religious affiliation or political ideology. Syed lost out on the safe seat to a local man who had worked in the constituency office for six years. He (Syed) is now sufficiently Tory to have publicly endorsed Jeremy Hunt in the 2019 Tory party leadership contest, so presumably he is no longer a Labour Party member.
Does white priviledge exist of course not. It is just a coincidence that y You do not need years of transgender treatment to get into a ladies toilet aor changing room to rape a woman. You need a mop and a bucket
