Do you ever get sick of making mountains out of mole hills? Or turning everything someone says in to a potential drama, it was honeyman yesterday and now this.... Remain hopeful is a term used loads when it comes to contracts, if he came out with "he will be signing soon" you'd have a problem if he didn't sign or it took longer than your thought "soon" should be
What a strange response. It was an observation based on the phrasing, which others have also noted. No mountain. Even if they came out and said "Negotiations continue with Greaves" I'd have not commented on it as it'll get done when it gets done, as others have said he isn't in the final year of his deal so it's not a priority, but "Remain hopeful" just reads as if there's some work being done to convince him to stay.
Not abuse or atleast not intended to, but he just seems to try and find a negative out of absolutely anything and everything ATM
Really? Think I've been pretty positive on a number of the signings (Seri and Estupinan specifically), and when people were getting impatient about Estupinan, Sinik and Tetteh's announcements was one of the ones telling people to calm down and be patient. Wasn't even that upset when KLP finally went. Not quite sure what you're on about.
There's obviously work that needs to be done, but why do you automatically jump to thinking that means he needs convincing to stay as opposed to anything else?
I think there's someone making a mountain out of this but it ain't me.. it was a simple comment, sorry if it upset you. I thought it was a strange turn of phrase so said as much. A few have 'liked' my comment so I suspect others thought it odd wording too. Didn't think it was much deeper than that.
It's not upset me, I'm just wondering why you automatically jump to thinking it means he needs convincing to stay as opposed to any other reason?
Hopeful is quite a low modality word, we didn't say we were confident, or certain or anything else that indicated it was close to being done. If it's not close to being done then there are issues to work through as you said, it means he's not happy with elements of the current deal that we need to work through. I guess it feels like we're saying the same thing - that we need to work through elements of the deal - so I'm not sure what's going on here haha.
Just as in the new owners thread there is a conflict between the ITKers and those who don't pick up the tiniest hint of rumour and make it into a done deal. If you know what I mean.
Lol Again....why does it mean he needs convincing to stay ( your words ) why couldn't it be that we are just in negotiations as all contracts go through? How do you know it's him that's unhappy with what's on offer and not the club that's unhappy with that he's asking for? There is tons of things that it could be...I'm just wondering why you instantly jumped to "he needs convincing to stay"
I don't know mate sorry for saying anything. It seemed strange to come out with that phrase in relation to his contract negotiations but clearly I'm wrong and it's not strange at all.
You've absolutely no need to say sorry, I just genuinely wondered why you'd taken it as he needs convincing to stay over anything it that it could be.
Getting Greaves on a long-term deal will be like a new signing. I can kinda understand where Syd is coming from because I’m having kittens a bit over the prospect of Greaves leaving. He’d be a far greater loss and more difficult to replace than KLP imo.
I don’t think you are a negative person or anything, you seem like a good lad but sometimes your posts are very negative whether you mean to or not
