I’d assumed that the newer much lighter football was better for the bonce…..as a kid in the 70s I hated heading the ball, especially when it was wet, but knew I’d be dropped if I chickened out…..
Think we all headed it in those days. The ‘Ospreys’’ mouthguard has been used in studies by the FA which has now issued guidance on the number of headers permitted/recommended in training. The number of headers in a match is much lower than in training. Man City and Liverpool were part of the football trial.
Current footballs are like beach balls compared to the balls we played with in the 70's. Also the leather rugby balls that were used were like medicine balls when they got wet...... it was amazing that there were so few broken foot bones probably because were wore proper leather football boots not the technicolor slippers that players wear these days.......
Great scenes in Santiago as Argentina beat Scotland 34 - 31 with a try in 80th minute... ironically scored by a lad who plays for Edinburgh... ... pumas win series 2-1 in their first home games for 3 years....
Amazing performance by Ireland, a long time since the All Black's have been bossed in their own backyard. Congratulations to the World No.1 ranked team...
****. It’s going to cost the RFU a bob or two to poach him when they finally realise Jones is going round in circles.
The RFU should go for Scott Robertson - he’d win you the World Cup. That said, I’d rather he came to coach Wales
