The administrators and Brent have agreed terms ...... a big thank you to the players and staff for all they've done to keep our club alive, and for us the fans who have also played their part. Copying someone elses phrase "Plymouth Argyle, the club that wouldn't die" Drinks are on me
sorry just made a thread maybe your mod could just delete it or merge it may i be the first to congratulate you and hopefully stability will now come to your club.onwards and upwards Toon army for the Green army
As a Torquay United fan, I'm supposed to say "aarrrrgh **** off Argyle" But as a football fan, I say well done, and that I'm pleased for the club and the fans.
Ooops forgot to thank James Brent, and all the countless other football clubs who supported us through our darkest hours .... Thank you !!!
Congratulations! It's never nice to see a club go into administration and it's great to see you are coming out of administration. Good luck in the future lads.
Thank goodness that's over at last, especially for the long-suffering staff. Right onto the next thing - 6 points to get clear of the drop zone........
One other group that need thanks in all of this I'm slightly ashamed to say are the host of creditors who have dipped out of their rightful wedge. Without their agreement there would not be a club. So, the fat lady has at last sung. To be fair I just never accepted that Argyle would go to the wall and always believed that somehow it would come through this. It is a relief to finally get confirmation that the deed is done. Any chance we could get our 10 points back from last season now??? Well, you have to be a bit cheeky and ask haven't you. The staff in the backrooms especially must be one hell of a work force to have put up with what they have for all this time. If there is any money left in all of the collections then I hope they still get it as a bonus or whatever you want to call it. Any sort of football fan in this City should now get their arses off their seats and go and support the club. The backroom staff deserve a little return from the citizens.
Congratulations from not only Norwich fans, but football fans from all walks of life! Take a deep breath and start to enjoy life again! Good luck for the future, now you know you definitely have one
Well Gat-Po I told you not to count your chickens to soon...............He that will not be mentioned by name is now officially.........CHAIRMAN OF FOOTBALL. Obviously James Brent has twisted his arm and got him to stay............so how long will he put up with Fletcher not playing or bothering to look at the league table before the new year..........you might have to put your suit away Carl.
Saints fan here, really pleased to see you out of administration. Good luck for the future and hope to see you promoted in the future.
Isn't it a sweet feeling .... have a feeling though we wont be the last club that the HMRC try and liquidate !!!!
Make no mistake Gat, they will keep trying and they will succeed eventually. If the changes to the rules are born out as previously stated then it is just a matter of time. We got out of this by the skin of our teeth.
In truth, the rules should be changed. There's no reason on earth why football should be allowed to live in its own little bubble within which it looks after its own. Normal rules should apply, then clubs would be run according to normal business practices and the fans would be able to sleep much more soundly in their beds.
Trouble is you have to get from point A to point B and for many clubs if this were to occur it would take time to happen. I don't disagree with living within your means which is something I have always personally done and do approve of. That is not to say I want to see any football club going to the wall. That is said as a football supporter rather than with any other conviction on the matter. I cannot see the HMRC not getting their scalp at some point and probably sooner rather than later. They will not allow this to lie. Any club now tettering on the brink should worry seriously because the next one not of an attractive nature will have more to worry about and especially in this financial climate.
Great news, now let's see Plymouth Argyle get where they should be. Good luck for the rest of the season. From a Cardiff fan
