Tbh that ms why I prefer green. The candidates are generally non threatening and focus on creating a healthier nicer world and the change would be radical enough to change things. Unfortunately where I live we have a twat if a Tory MP in a contested seat so Labour are my anti Tory option- I tend to vote green in locals for that reason. I voted green last time in the generals like because of the Corbyn clique. That’s why I think first past the post needs ditching. I should be able to vote for the party i prefer and it make a difference not for the ones I least despise.

I am reminded of an old joke, the punchline goes

‘So which one got the job?

The one with the biggest tits.’

    Priorities.

Must admit that’s occurred to me before, one very nice lass came for an interview and I could see her suspenders through her skirt. I thought no, fight it, be professional, anyway I gave her the job <laugh>

The way inflation is going Penny Mordaunt will have to change her name to Tuppence before long.

Interestingly she was once a magicians assistant ...

... if she comes out in high heels, fishnets and a top hat she's getting my vote.

Yoy are spot on, yet the truth of your statement bypasses all those voter who 'Allways vote (enter Tory or Labour, whichever is appropriate)'.

Of course being in opposition is the easiest option.
You can propose that evil be abolished for all the difference it makes because nothing you say will be acted upon and you can never be held responsible.
You can though play the part of the 'Peoples Champion'.

My only hope is that the electorate ditch the old oxbridge priviledged brigade. Mordaunt would be my choice.

What difference does it make, if like that bloke says it’s run by the money men, what’s even the point of voting?

The Tory jostling and backstabbing for power is disgusting. Leaked papers to try and discredit Mordaunt, an "unnamed" MP accusing Sunak supporters of propping up the Badenoch campaign. Then Truss dog whistling again discussing "Whitehall inspired Stalinist housing policies"...

It seems to me like those currently on the gravy train will do anything to stay on it which means making Liz Truss our next Prime Minister. This would be the worst outcome for this country.

All Tory governments end the same. Everyone stabbing each other in the back for their own selfish ends. It just goes to show what "Conservatism" is all about. The self above others, and these self same selfish people want to be let loose to spend taxpayers money and legislate on the behalf of others. The dichotomy between selfishness and selflessness is there for all to see.

I know everyone in politics wants power and of course Starmer is playing to win but it feels like modern Conservative has sold it’s soul for a boost in the opinion polls

The big problem now is that the candidates all know it's little more than a popularity contest because the policies, for which this government was elected, are all but forgotten.

TBH they were barely noticed at the start because no one had a clue what Boris would do next, himself included.

So the 'mandate' we keep hearing about is largely irrelevant and people just know that 'Brexit is done' ...

... no one seems to know what the consequences of Brexit will be, just that it's done.

Fair enough, time will tell. Although I expect anything good will be attributed to Brexit and anything bad still blamed on Europe. In that way the hatred for the French, Germans, etc, can continue and Britain can go back, in time, to being whatever it is we think we once were.

Surprising she was driving a car...

As from the picture, more probably being chauffeured around in a large dumper truck would be suitable
