A Chelsea fan I know was very excited about signing him, is that true that they can sign him back, like Bojan?
They've got a ridiculous buy-back clause, apparently. If they want him back at the end of this season, then it'll cost them €10m and if they want him back at the end of next season, it'll cost them €15m. Awful deal for Chelsea.
I'd agree that talking about a top 3 finish in October is premature, at best, but we've also beaten a few other sides. Arsenal and Liverpool, for example.
Does that mean the reason Chelsea don't play him is to keep Barca in the dark as to how good or bad he is? Thus keeping him on the bench for a couple of seasons to get his buy-back fee up!!!
I disagree, no one's denying that we'd have done very well to get 4th but we're currently joint 3rd with a game in hand so I don't think it's off limits to dream about.
It wasn't that we beat them, it was the way we beat them, we played football West Ham fans can only dream about. Oh and thanks for Parker BTW I'm not sure anyone , even City, can play the sort of free-flowing football that we showed on Sunday, and in some of the previous games this season. As Harry says, we are a joy to watch. Oh thanks for Harry too, Hammers He was the one that was going to bankrupt us, yep that was a classic piece of nonsense from many a Hammer wasn't it
As far as I see it, this year the top of the table seems to be like this: Man City >>> Man Utd >>>>> Chelsea >> Spurs > Liverpool / Arsenal. It's all going to be very close in the battle for 4th once again (much closer than the title race IMO) and I think we should concentrate on that instead of worrying about 3rd just yet!
A champ striker? Anyway you sold us Enrique for £6mil which more than made up for Carroll, he's the one the best left back's in the league and he's only 25. You win some you lose some I guess.
I'd thought before the season started it was very unlikely Chelsea would finish anywhere other than third and I still do. Either Villa-Boas will get them sorted out quickly or he'll be looking for gainful employment.
I'll be honest - before the season started, I thought Chelsea would take advantage of the Manchester clubs cancelling each other out and pip them to the title. Now I'm thinking it's possible the two North London clubs could pip them to the remaining couple of Champion's League places...
