I'll see if I can track down someone who was there and we could even have a guest speaker!

5th of December is my birthday as well.

I get to celebrate the biggest and record scoreline derby victory every birthday. Its cool man, just cool.

PS- does it mean that we shouldnt now celebrate famous historic victories such as the Battle of Trafalgar, Waterloo, VE Day 1945 just because we were not born when they happened?

Should great sporting acheivement such as Roger Bannisters sub 4 min mile etc not be considred worthy now becasue I didnt see it happen?

Is the magnificent sights of Nobby Stiles dancing and Sir Bobby Moore lifting the Jules Rimme World Cup also irrelevant to anyone born after 1966? If you didnt see it it didint happen according to the craas. So if you were born after 1966, England never won the World Cup over in Goonside.

Well chums, whatever you choose to see or say, 9-1 DID happen and whatever the year it happened, it remains the absolute record and no matter how many time you sing 5-1, our 9-1 just blows it out of the ball park.

Top club SAFC - most times English Champions, biggest ever home crowd, biggest margin of victory in a derby and biggest ever score in a derby game.

Come back when you have eclipsed ANY of those records chumps and we will talk again on a par. Until that time know your place in the food chain ya set of clueless chavs.

Cest, I'm assuming you saw the Rowell hat trick at SJP, so let's use that as an example.

Can you honestly tell me the joy I imagine you would've felt that day is no different to the first time someone told you/you read about the 1 - 9 victory?

I did see it and it was magnificent but as it was at your place, it still eclipses your 5-1 at home. Even our win away from home is a better result surely, as was your 4-1 win at our place a few years ago.

As for the 9-1 win, call it however you want dave, its in the record books and still matters today as much as it did then. You cant be selective when it comes to history. You either ignore all of it, or accept all and if you want to live in denile about it, then thats your call. It still doesnt alter the fact it happened and will never be eclipsed.

If you'd read anything I've written you could clearly see I acknowledge the result. I'd certainly be proud had it been the other way round, but I'm not sure I'd be sat bragging about it like it happened yesterday when I knew absolutely nothing about it other than a few basic facts. Both clubs have a rich history that we can be proud of, but if you had a big smile on your face when Dowd blew the final whistle last year thinking back to the 1 - 9 then you're a better man than me!

<laugh> You still here Shameless? Another cracking gif mate, I'm saving all these.

Nobodys ignoring the 9-1 win though, it's a quality bit of history. But it just means far less to all of us because none of us were even remotely there to see it, so how can anybody take you seriously if you're having to dig to over a century ago to make yourself feel better about a demolishion we can all remember from 1 year ago. Since you want to bring military victorys into it, this is pretty much like Germany invading France in 1940 and the French saying "Yeh well we kicked your ass even harder under Napoleon!"

If Sunderland were to win the league in your life time, it would mean far more to you than any of the previous league wins which you weren't alive to experience first hand right?

When you can match these records I'll take you seriously. Until then, keep dreaming chum.

WTF are you warbling on about?

    9-1

    6 times English Champions

Match those stats and I'll consider you equal. Until such time, know your place in history chum.

Comparing huge military victories to a game of football. ****ing hell, what a complete idiot.

Winning more derbies is better then one very good result, even better that we won the league that year.
