Ahh, someone with real data, as my last post what is a typical school meal these days? it's over 16 years since my youngest last had one but they sounded decent back then.
The real problem is the quality of the food types rather than the meal itself. So cheaper imports for meat, switching some meat and fish to cheaper alternatives, switching the quality of fruit and veg etc. Some of it is down to recent increase in costs, but a lot of it was happening well before. And even the choices being made now to cheaper options is to preserve the profits. Anyway I've gone right off Tugenhat. The bloke talks a lot without saying anything at all. It's all generic nonsense with no clear plan. Don't vote for him Diego.
I expected more tbh but he lacks any direction or vision. It's like he turns up and just talks. Shame really. So anyway, my prediction re: Sunak going to plan. Already dipping The tory faithful going to pick Mordaunt.
It's moreso the Tory members. She beats any one in a two horse race, in today's poll of members. I think many of the MPs will be reading the room and thinking about hedging their bets towards her when it comes to picking the last 2. A lot of horse trading to come and promises of cabinet positions. Tbf to her she actually has specific plans. Not many I agree with mind but at least she can spell them out and sounds like she has half an idea what she wants to do. The rest, bloody hell.
I don't want someone from here to be PM, but Cruella is from Fareham and I'd take Penny over her any day.
Not sure you can compare the cost of a school meal against what you would personally spend to feed a child. As the school meal money comes in, it gives you greater buying power, especially in bulk.
I know that but not what a school meal consists of typically. I do work for companies around Bury Bolton and Rochdale who supply cleaned and peeled vegetables to schools (some pre-chopped), they all also supply the same products to work canteens and small restaurants.
Many decades ago, I think it was about 50p for a school dinner, but then so was a packet of cigarettes, I just hope that school meals don't cost the same price as a packet of cigs these days!
Jeremy seems to be the name for losers. The Official Raving Loony Party did an experiment with a lifetime loser called Jeremy and he got wiped out at the polls. Tory Jeremy had already lost a leadership contest to Boris but now he was out of the way, he gave it another go. All that plotting came to nothing. Bad news for Rishi is that Jeremy is now backing him. After the first round Rich Rishi is leading but he really wanted to be in a run-off against Remainer Jeremy as then he would be the ‘Not Jeremy’ candidate. Rishi’s people bought the domain name for his campaign website in December 2021 but all his plotting may come to nothing. When they get to the run-off, the winner will be the ‘Not Rishi’ candidate unless one of the outsiders somehow gets to the last two. So far it looks like the next PM will be Penny Mordaunt or Liz Truss. The polling suggests that the membership are keenest on Penny; and ultimately it is they not the MPs that decide.
Exactly. It can be made for under the ****ing £5 they're paid to provide one. No wonder this ****wit ****ed up again last night. ****wit. Post 7114. Moronic ********.
30p Lee Anderson reckons you can live on noodles for that amount. You have to rob next door's leccy though.
You talking about the ingredients alone or adding in the cooks, the fuel the servers, the cleaning staff (pot washers) etc?
Have I missed another of those moments like the closing scenes of Bagpuss, where all the creatures fall asleep as QM rambles off into the evening?
