Signed for ManCity from Germany when 8 and moved to the Owls in 2020 and now has British and Nigerian citizenship. Only one year left on his contract, he still qualifies as a U21 player and could be available for £1m or less. Could be a sensible move to let Gibbs go out on loan.

EDIT: A Yorkshire Examiner view of Bashiru:

    Could this be the one?

We have a long tradition of getting excited about players who cost us a lot of money (by our standards) because they are going to transform the club. And then they flop. Meanwhile, cheaper signings happen where we all go 'meh', and they turn out to be Pukki and Buendia and Holt, players who genuinely do transform the club.

    Strange thing, football.

The Yorkshire examiner article is interesting, in that much as it praises the player it also suggests he won't be a first choice midfielder for them when the season starts.

If he's not (currently) good enough for a starting role in league one, it would suggest he's one for the future rather than the present. Given his contract situation, perhaps Norwich see a cut-price youngster to develop out on loan, rather than a first team option.

Yes, that struck me as well, but it could be that they want to put off suitors as "the vultures are circling". They then go on to say: "Wednesday are keen to keep hold of Dele-Bashiru as they seek to create a team capable of challenging for automatic promotion next season" as well as: "He has got all the attributes required to reach the top". I suppose it's whether we believe their press are any more knowledgeable than the Archant lot we have in Norwich.

Good MFW article about what Sinani could bring to the team this season, including potentially filling the Buendia gap. I remember Farke rather snobbishly dismissing his potential because the Luxembourg league wasn't on a PL or Bundesliga level, ignoring his experience in the Champions League and the National team. I hope he gets a proper chance with Smith this time.

Meanwhile, has Gabriel Sara arrived in the fine city?

"Globo Esporte, claim the player was set to fly out on Wednesday evening, local time. He’s said to be accompanied by an entourage comprising of people who work for his agent, Carlos Leite. Those officials will help in sorting the final details of the agreement, which will cost Norwich City £9m. He’s set to sign a five-year deal with the Canaries."

We nearly signed Van Dijk too before he went to Celtic.

Not sure why that got your knickers in a twist though ?
The report said Napoli didn't get their replacement in time so pulled the deal , the player was happy to sign for us back in 2015 rather than turned us down.

The article doesn't say he turned us down, indeed the opposite, he was happy to complete the move. Apparently the move fell through because Napoli, failed to recruit their targets.

League One side Plymouth Argyle have signed Norwich City full-back Bali Mumba on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old has played five league games for Norwich, including a half against Manchester City last August.

Mumba spent the second half of last season on loan at Peterborough United, playing 10 times in the Championship and making three FA Cup appearances.

Would like to have kept Mumba personally

The Mirror said £9m, but the Telegraph and other sources say £6m up front, £3m in installment(s) and £2.5m in add ons for appearances and PL promotion.

As always, let's hope he lives up to the price tag.

Well, that's another version. The question is, who 'told' him? If it was Webber, then fine, but Webber doesn't usually reveal the terms of deals.
